As much as I like Yoroichi....She really serves absolutely NO purpose to the plot anymore since teaching Ichigo Bankai. Now she is just around (when she is around that is) for that kick-ass chick and fan service effect.

I agree....Juhabach should have just made her explode U_U

I'm glad he didn't kill her, what good would that have done? Yoruichi is a good character, just killing prominent characters off for canon fodder is bad writing. A characters death should mean something or its pointless, its like the deaths in Harry Potter or Neji, no reason at all for them. A good writer knows when to kill a character and why

Lets be honest, that can be said for 90% of the Bleach cast, including Aizen, in fact that can be said for most stories, not everything in a story is there to drive the plot, otherwise it would be like a hotdog without mustard, just the bate necessities and everyone would say it was boring or lacked intresting characters

^This

Aizen makes the show interesting tho'
He does and thats what characters not driving the plot do, in fact really, at this moment the only plot driving characters are Yhwach the main antagonist - Ichigo - the main protagonist - The soul king - the maiden in distress and Ukitaki, the maidens guard. Everyone else could be removed and the story could still progress but it would be very boring

Aizen is not needed to the plot any longer, he is added to the plot on purpose because he is liked and interesting. Aizen's presence could be removed and the plot would continue, his part is a sub plot, connected to the main plot to make it more interesting, the same as Yoruichi is a supporting character added to the fight to make it more dramatic and exciting.

You don't kill characters because they no longer are relevant to the plot because every plot only requires a small cast to complete it but it is the sub plots and supporting characters that make it interesting

Also canon fodder prominent characters is bad writing, its like Kubo has recently moved into the world of Deathly Hallows, the "how not to bump a character off" world. Its something he needs to move away from, fortunately, he can save the characters he has nearly killed, which is the old style of Kubo

And Kyoraku ? and Urahara ? and Ishida ?
Have been important to the plot but are not currently. I was giving an example of why you don't kill off characters just because they are not at the moment or no longer driving the plot. The fight between Ichigo and Ishida is a sub plot, a dressing, it is not needed to funnel the story to conclusion but it makes the story better.

The thread implies that Yoruichi should be dead because she adds nothing to the plot but that is not true, it is the supporting cast that adds spice to the story, otherwise it is like chips without tomato sauce, plain.

It's like Naruto without Iruka, plain.

We are yet to know about her Shikai or the Bankai . She is a captain Class Shingami Fighter !! I don't think she will lose that easily .

It mystifies me why Kubo never gave her any powerups yet . Why did she quit being a captain ? I for sometime think Yoruichi loves Urahara romantically !! XD

An no aizen is important to the plot they will need his help to defeat Bach or to do something to the soul king an keep him intact...as Juno said in his interview aizen has a major role to play in this last arc.
