To Sasuke Fans-Why is Sasuke a great character?

Sasuke, Gaara, Itachi, Neji and Madara are all better characters than him. Naruto is not even top 5 of best characters.

And no, before you spit the gun, having lots of power and being able to shoot giant balls is not part of character development. Naruto is still the same egg head from chapter 1, so how the hell am I hearing that he is a better character than Sasuke? Why, because he's the main character? Yeah, no.

I am not saying Naruto is the best character in the manga, just saying he was better than Sasuke, part 1 Sasuke was a well written character, part 2 Sasuke was just and emotionally challenged kid

He represents a character that has seen the horrors of life and has had to go all out to learn the truth for himself even it meant cutting ties with people to get it. Naruto didn't witness the death of his parents when they were stabbed by kurama. Sasuke witnessed the death and genocide of his parents and his clan not by a stranger but by his own flesh and blood that he looked up to. His path as an avenger showed how the power of revenge can grant someone enormous strength and power, but as a cost if he continues with it. Forget the haters who say assspulls and all that craziness. What attracted me to sasuke and made him my number one favourite character was that he is a realist and he will stick to it. He is not really a daydreamer like the kid version of Naruto who didn't know the truth. Trust me. If Naruto, sakura and Kakashi plus even the hidden leaf were to see everything that happen to sasuke from his mind. There will be confusion in the village and the hokages could be discredited.

Because imo, when people say his logic is retarded, or his actions are childish, they tend to forget... His actions are the same actions that any other teenager with his abilities, and background would do.. especially if faced with all the bs he was out through.
I View him as one of the most realistic and understandable characters. I also love the fact that with Sasuke, he always keeps you guessing, it makes things more interesting.
unlike some characters where you can easily predict what their reaction is going to be to the T

He was a great character until the end, after S & N destroy Kaguya and Sasuke decides to kill the Kage and tailed beasts. I thought that part was stupid. I don't see why Sasuke needed to be beat down by Naruto. After everything Itachi did for him, there was no way Sasuke was going to flip the switch and become a world destroyer again. Their last fight basically negated everything Itachi did. I wish the entire last fight between N & S would have been used to wrap up some of the other characters.

Well stated, I can't find anyone more "human" than Sasuke. We primitive humans aren't god, and we are not immune to any of these things you listed.

In my opinion Sasuke's development through part I and the up until he defeated Dazno was spot on. He is the avenger, that is his archetype.

His development began going downhill once he defeated Danzo. He fought his brother and killed the main reason the Uchiha massacre even occurred, but after that his motives became murky and really undefined, to wanting to destroy the leaf/Naruto, to wanting to become hokage, to killing the 5 kage and becoming the worlds villain in order to unite them.

his "character" is easy to relate to for so many because they want to see a protagonist/antagonist suffer both physically and emotionally. Naruto had tough battles but he never questions his motives (at least not for longer than one chapter) we haven't really seen a "change" in Naruto emotionally as we have with Sasuke.

I think the main reason why people like Sasuke though is because he has a darker background than Naruto. And really has nothing to do with his development. When dealing with ninja more people expect a history like Sasuke's from a protagonist's perspective than being ordained to be the worlds preachy savior.

I like Naruto better than Sasuke, but I agree that Sasuke is better written than Naruto.

Pain, Danzo, and Itachi are the best written characters in my opinion
