Nagato simply choose who the ability sucks up and if he didn't want to suck up his friends it won't seeing as he chooses not to get sucked up himself...

I don't think it works like that if they have no ground to stand on, unless they spot they are remains untouched by the pull.

This would be an epic battle to see, and tbh it could go either way. If Minato and Tobirama could take out Nagato, then they win easy. But as I said it would all depend on how and if they can take out Nagato.
