Lol This form of development Naruto got is quiet common. Ending with a pairing is nothing new. He did it for money? Yeah he did it for money, its his job. Who would not do it for money? NaruHina is just fanservice? Yes it is, just like this whole manga. It was written for us fans, while it was his way of earning some money. So why state the obvious people?

Edit: One other thing I would like to mention. If he really wanted more money than why did he not just end it open end? By deciding to make a official pairing he lost a few set of fans. In the end if anything this would decrease the chances of earning more money.
