For the first half of 2014 I remember AoT having a 4million lead over One Piece. Really thought that AoT would sell higher this for boosted year of its.

I don't think that really make that much of a difference. (AoT is not really that young manga). Sure it would if OP just slightly outsell AoT, but while both have 3 Volumes.

OP published 3, but AoT 9 Volumes. Per Volume it's 3.961.985,67 for OP and for AoT it's 1.303.152 It's around tree times more selles per Volume for OP

Actually This is the year of AoT. More people came in since the series got recently very popular and bought the older volumes too so the sales are very high. Call them the 'boosted sales'. One Piece is past that now and it's booasted sales went upto like 37 million.

This is what Forbidden Tale said. How can the sales be this close when the new volumes are selling much less the latest volumes of OP? Well because the older ones are selling too this year.

You have to consider how many volumes OP has in general. It's been around for like 20 years, there are plenty of volumes for people to buy.

I don't think you get it. This is based on the sells for the year. Sure OP has more volumes, and sure people could buy the older volumes just like they did for AOT, but the sells for those volumes isn't much at all for an older series. If you wanted to compare what OP has sold in total has sold 300mil+. If you want to compare that to the 11.7mil AoT has done, it doesn't mean too much.


OT: Damn that was close for 1st and 2nd. I knew OP would come out on top at the end of the year. The hype train died for AoT the middle of this year, and people stopped buying all of volumes vs just the recent ones that come out that year. OP always is on top when it comes to Manga sells by volume, so despite Oda being sick and only putting out 3 volumes this year(and the sells of vol 72 still being bought in 2013), it outshined the 9 volumes SnK had in the top 100. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

I'm happy Magi is 8. That manga is really amazing.
Also FT beating Bleach in sells. That has to hurt someone somewhere.
Lastly, has anyone read Haikyuu!!? It got 3rd and I have never even heard of the series. Has anyone read it and give me a quick summary on what it is about?


Oh and Naruto is 6th. GG Naruto. It will be sad not seeing you on this list in the future.
