The last drawing would've seemed like a cool character. Perhaps another kid that Naruto could've helped control his dark side. XD at Itachi though. His character would've fit so odd if he looked like that & Zabuza looks cool, but his design doesn't fit the series...maybe he could've kept the swords though.

Well lol but that too is true, isn't it? Hinata's character grew in importance in direct proportion to Nej's decline. Kishi didn't have much use for Bayakugan and using same techs for two characters makes people think less of them both in action manga. ( Tsunade and Sakura).

Yes, to some degree. When Neji and Hinata were both around, the Hyuuga fanbase was divided between them. With Neji's death, many of his fans flocked to supporting Hinata. It also takes away the idea of any spotlight being on any Hyuuga outside of Hinata, since the only other one with development died.

It's interesting to see what Kishi was thinking about in terms of characters in the very beginning. I definitely prefer Itachi's final design over the conceptual one; it gave his character a greater sense of mystery. I wonder what role that character in the third picture would have played.

Poor Kishi....He wrote a simple manga - a pretty basic one for the most part. I wonder if he would ever see the kind of serious discussions we have over it, analyzing it from every possible angle under microscope. It should be hilarious to watch him- when I think of his reaction I can only imagine him like this:

I think he'd actually be very interested in seeing people analyze his manga, reading what they enjoyed/disliked about a chapter, and coming up detailed theories. Though he probably would lol at some of the less serious discussions and trolls.

As for manga- that's only till he doesn't read the comments about how he should have written it and supposed theories about what he wrote. Not that any of this matters. You are taking my posts the same way some of you take the manga- a bit too literally.

I would agree and Neji was infinitely more favourite Hyuga for me too, but seeing the action plot and uses of bayakugan, only one pair on the scene was enough most of the times and shippers wanted their cut so yeah... :/

We still have him Rock Lee's manga. ^^

Zabuza looks insanely badass. I have no idea why Kishimoto dropped this one. Konohamaru looks much much better as well, especially with that wolf motif. Itachi on the other hand ... looks like a hobo thug that steals money in the dark and kicks the victims in the stomach before urinating on their faces. I am glad this was dropped.

The initial design- funny that it reminds people of Law from OP. Good that Kishi changed it or they would have said Kishi sat in a time machine and stole Law from a future OP chapter.

He was not brutal and violent because he didn't clamour about his heinous acts and remained an introverted pseudo-philosophical quasi-sage - forever poor in both of these aspects?
