Exactly what move did she make other than gritting her teeth and talking tough?Contrast that with what Kakashi and Jiraiya did.Also Asura Path was a weakling and taken out thricee (if I recall,once by Jiraiya,then by Kakashi and then by Naruto) and yet she couldnt defend herself against him

If I wanted to I could compare the lives Tsunade directly saves compared to Jiraiya and Kakashi but I am not going to as they all saved the village in a way. Tsunade didnt stand there and look pretty, she gave all her chakra to the villagers and saved their lives with Katsuyu.

Tsunade was supposed to take Asura out herself but Kishimoto changed it last minute to allow Pain all to Naruto. She could have reacted to it but Naruto was quicker.

It may be or it may not.

Let me give an example of two characters who fit what I was trying to say;

Neji = Good Character/Poor Character development.
Obito = God Awful character/Decent Character development.

She is a medical nin.What she did was not that impressive in the least.Thats the point which I am trying to make.Most of the females in this manga are made out as pairing fodder or given unimpressive roles of healing people.There is not a single bad ass female in this manga.Tsunade is a legendary sannin.Just saving villagers with Katsuyu aint gonna cut it.At least be aggressive and do something about this guy going about murdering people in the village like theres no tomorrow instead of just waiting for Naruto.Jiraiya and Kakashi took on the problem head on

Also her face when Asura attacks her says it all.She was a goner if Naruto hadnt saved her.Naruto got stronger than her with just a week of Sage mode training which is laughable

Your pretty much on the money here. But let me explain to you why I care about backstory.

Back story defines a character for me. It makes me understand them better for the actions they are about to partake. Its like meeting a person in real life. You say hi and bye to them. Till you get to know the person more better. You never really connect to them as deeply. For me in order to connect to a character deeply. I need to know there backstory. Hence why I feel its important for characters I like.
