It is among the most successful.

It has all: likable characters, well developed characters, good aesthetics, solid plot, originality, great conflicts with great resolves, the romance does not pop out in the last chapter but it is developed, great power scaling.

Fairy Tail could only dream of being as popular as Naruto.

IMO, none of them should have had whiskers and one should have at least had the byakugan eyes( not saying they can't get them with their current eyes). All in all they look great to me.

If you've actually read Fairy Tail, you'd know that the characters are absolutely pathetically developed. The main character hasn't changed at all, the art is a direct copy of One Piece (Gildarts and Shanks are identical), the plot is completely thin, and doesn't compare to even Bleach, who is the weakest of the HST, is not original as it is a manga about Wizards, which has been done before and better (Magi is tiers above it), the conflicts are all forced and every time they are resolved, it involves some illogical contrived "friendship" based power to make it seem like a win (Laxus vs Natsu and Gajeel, Jellal vs early series Natsu etc.) and if you actually think that the romance is well developed at all, you must have not read anything good revolving around romance. It's almost as bad as a pairing as SasuSaku is.
