[Discussion] So Im Just getting into One Piece

Well thats not true. I watched it when it first came to america but hated it. But its a critically acclaimed anime/manga and I want to give it another try.

Any parts I should skip. Or are the fillers worth it?

Yea I lost interest that way the first time. When they were in the desert. Then stopped for a while and they were in this snowy place so I stopped all together

Also try to watch the very first episodes in HD
Oh and also dont ever tell anybody you where you are in OP because they might spoil(I used to be one of them :snick

Oh and btw you will come across a character called Zoro.
And in time you will realize that Zoro>Your fav

Actually i was strongly against going for any other anime or manga except naruto , but recently my friend insisted on watching one piece ! so i started it and i think in one and a half month , just hours ago i arrived up to date at episode 667 !!! _@:_@:_@:

i can only say it's a masterpiece !! regarding the story and characters !!

And of course ZORO is just awesome !!

Why don't you try gintama. It's different from other animes.

about the fillers , it's really like naruto , after the major arcs you usually have a filler arc ! but be careful about them , try to watch it fast forward , and careful about the end of them , because sometimes in the end of a filler arc there is an important canon info !

Seen the first two episodes of gintama. Its pretty funny. Seems more of a comedy then action though.

That dude is out of his mind. Alabasta is an awesome arc. You can't afford to skip arcs in One Piece because Oda is a master of foreshadowing. One of the best traits of One Piece is that Oda may give a piece of information in an arc that you don't think is important or special, and then you end up having two arcs about it later on. Don't skip any arcs whatsoever, except maybe the Davy Back arc. What I did was watched it all then revisited fillers. OP fillers can actually be cool.

He's not. His badassery stands out among the crew since he's meant to be the badass one.

So Oda is in control of the filler as well? Busy guy. So I guess I'll watch it straight through.

Nah he's just a consultant. The anime studio, Toei, make the fillers, but they usually do a good job.

Be patient, there are arcs that will over-compensate it for you...
