Garp wins scenario 1. WB was ill and got heart attacks in the middle of battle. That would seal WB's fate against Old Garp.

Prime: Garp (Akainu v Kuzan dif) ... yes I think so, sue me, I do think that the top of the Marines was equal to the top of teh pirates and both were a nudge above the 2nd pirate (WB) or second marine (Sengoku) ... I also think the top of the third faction, the revs, is equal to teh top of the Marines and the top of teh Pirates 
Old: could go either way because even though WB was sick he also had a DF and the DF does not lose as much power with age

Not sure why people think WB wins both.
Garp takes 1 due to WBs bad health.
And he was Rogers rival who was stronger than WB so naturally Garp prime>WB prime.

Scenario one:
- WB wins. He even while old is still holder of the title "Strongest man in the world"

- WB wins again. It was stated that he was only one equal with Roger. Garp was just able to give him good fights.

WB wins high diff in prime
Garp potentially wins old and sick WB since he was portrayed as vastly superior to the current admirals, who weren't much lower than WB. Albeit, by hype, WB would mid diff.

But Roger was still stronger by a little. That's the whole reason he was recognized more than him. You even said it yourself before.
Of course the gap was so tiny that their battles could've gone either way, but Roger was still stronger probably due to skill or using water to his advantage.
It required Sengoku and Garp to restrain Roger. This implies they weren't even close to his strength independently, and Roger most likely ended up fleeing most of his 1v1's anyways, to avoid any commotion or Buster Calls. WB being extremely close to his strength, along with the hype he received should put him above Garp, who is a CQC fighter, thus weak to WB's long range attacks.

The Garp wank is terrible. He is not placed Roger/Prime Whitebeard level in the manga. Whitebeard wins both with no more than high difficulty(maybe very high). Whitebeard is world strongest man while being old and sick, not Garp
Garp is known to be the one who cornered roger and they almost got killed by each other not WB and i don't know why you think garp is weak.Garp is known as the hero & strongest among marines.roger trusted a marine to raise his child not WB itself shows the trust that roger had in garp and his strength.Garp has haki & he tried to kill akainu without any fear(many people say akainu is the strongest of admirals) and sengoku stopped him.so he is clearly strong.
