Hagoromo has been entrusting indra and ashura with powers, and hoping they dont try to kill eachother. First, he gave ashura power. That didn't work.

Then, he gave indra power, by giving madara the Rinnegan. While it did technically get ninshuu working, and had everyone's chakra connected, that was me scating over the nastier aspects of Infinite Tsukiyomi.

And now he tries giving Indra and Ashura power. And now Naruto & Sasuke are fighting.


Has it occurred to him that the best way to solve this is to not give indra or ashura power, and give their souls a good slap/decaptitation?

What I find funny/ironic is Indra's line is causing so much destruction as opposed to Ashura's line.

one of my bigger takeaways from the chapter was Hagoromo proving just how big of a fool Madara always said he was. The kind of moron it takes to knowingly give that kind of power away to someone whose motives were questionable and expect different results is beyond me. Hagoromo managed to do nothing but fail the world all over again a millenium later, only now he got to see it firsthand.

The combo of INdra and Ashura's chakra, for no good reason, came out with Hagoromo's chakra. Chakra is sentient, as has been prooved bazillions of times allready. Hagoromo's chakra lead him to getting the Rinnegan, therefore Hagoromo gave him the rinnegan.

What would you call a "good reason"? Madara was Indra's reincarnation, thus he had Indra's chakra. Hashirama was Ashura's reincarnation, and also had Ashura's chakra. Madara stole a piece of Hashirama's body and implanted it in himself, and accidentally awakened the Rinnegan through those two chakras mixing.

Hagoromo didn't tell Ashura or Indra to continue transmigrating and fighting, and he didn't tell Madara to mix the chakras.

We don't know if they even had a mother, or if Hago and Hamu had a father. I think it's possible that they were all created with Creation of All Things, just like the bijuu. First Kaguya did it, then Hagoromo. Why they keep deliberately creating polar opposite sons is beyond me.

Kishi has done a poor job of exploring a lot of plot points concerning the Ootsutsuki family thus far. I think it MIGHT be intentional, but at this point (post-Kaguya's absurd conclusion) I just don't give a shite.

Hagoromo is Gedo. Misguided. Evil in the Buddhist sense.

Everything he has done in order to try and -make- things peaceful has invariably resulted in a greater amount of chaos and destruction.

Because you can't -make- peace happen. No one has enough power. No one has enough control. No one has enough foresight/insight.

The only thing you can do is find a way for you to be satisfied with the different stages of life and content to traverse them - to free yourself from suffering and try to show others how to do the same. That way, when you're hungry, you're excited about your next meal. When you're tired, you're looking forward to your dreams. When you're full, you look forward to the strengthening of your body. When you're rested, you look forward to the things you can accomplish.

It's a subtle shift in perspective that chooses to focus on moving through the phases of life rather than fearing the onset of those that are unpleasant. It doesn't stop one from feeling pain. It doesn't stop one from feeling anything - it only prevents one from suffering because of those feelings.

Hagoromo failed to understand this. He acted to try and end the unpleasant feelings because he believed those were the cause of suffering.

This, in turn, causes him to suffer. He has been suffering this entire time (signified by the gedo statue as well as his lingering spirit/soul/whatever) because his 'happiness' has hinged on what others decide to do and things well outside of his control.
