it felt forced to me as well. Just seemed to unrealistic given what they had all just been through.

Well you are half right, it feels a bit sudden. But it is also sort of a logical conclusion, Sasuke wants to overthrow everything, if he can kill Naruto he will be the strongest, in fact he will be unstoppable, he can mold the world into his perfect image (of peace). And right now is the best time to do this.

Naruto has fought for far longer than he has, Kakashi is near chakra exhaustion, Sakura is probably of not much use either after all the fighting. Actually this whole thing is far better than the sudden change of hearth we believed he had since meeting the former Hokages.

Why are people so against the idea of Sasuke's death? I can totally get the argument about Naruto's going back on his word thing, but there are those who thign Sasuke is such an integral part of the series and killing him off would shit on the series and yadda yadda. But, to me, Sasuke's been nothing but a plot device for hundreds of chapters now. He's literally had no use beyond his powers/skills being used to achieve something, like sealing off Orochimaru and killing Itachi and using his skills to defeat Kaguya. His services are no longer required, there's no real reason for him to be alive, unless Kishi plans to use him for another plot device.

Neji was diffrent, Neji sacrificed himself, it is totally different to the situation with Sasuke, Naruto is an exception, the whole point of him is that he can reach people no one else can that he can save people no one else can, if he cannot save Sasuke then he is not who he is supposed to be, the character dissolves. Sasuke CAN be saved so Naruto who is supposed to be able to save those no one else can, like Gaara, has to save hi, he also promised to and never goes back on his word, Neji could no be saved, he chose to die.

Sasuke is partly the reason why Neji is dead.

"How can I become Hokage if I can't save my friend"

Ask Hashirama and Tsunade about Madara and Orochimaru.

All your posts are spot on. You are not the only one who thinks this way.

I have been expecting Naruto Vs Sasuke, but not this way. They already had differences in opinion that were legitimate reasons to fight, but this?

I'm really counting on Naruto to TNJ Sasuke. I don't want the manga to end with them dead.

He should die. He helped revived the Juubi which lead to the deaths of Neji, Ino's father, and Shikamaru's father. He can't come back to the village as that would be retarded.

Both Hashi and Tsunade gave up eventually. Naruto has spent all his teenaged years trying to save his friend. Until Naruto says he has given up on Sasuke I won't believe otherwise. I don't care how childish you think it is, if Naruto goes back on his word, he is ruined as a character.

No, it would be good character development for him to give up. It saws that he is human and that is what makes a good character. Sasuke has done too much damage to go back to the village.

Naruto V. Sasuke NOT forced

Typing this from my phone so excuse spellings errors.

Sasuke did not want to do this earlier, why? Its obvious as Hell. He hates the Ninja SYSTEM but not enough to sacrifice every shinobi in the War to settle his differences.

It was predicted and foreseen. Acting as if it was rushed is just an excuse, we all saw this coming. I even made a thread about it MONTHS ago and everyone believed the man with special "eyes" was Madara or Obito. -_-

Also. Sasuke`s way of handeling this is almost the same as Danzo with his hate against the Uchiha ..keep this in mind for whats to come.

He didn't know anything about the Juubi so that could be overlooked. As for returning to the village? Why not. Redemption has happened to characters more evil than Sasuke.

But you are partly right. If Sasuke continues on his path, he will die.

I would agree with you if this were another manga. This kind of ending worked in Death Note. Naruto is not that kind of manga. Have you noticed how few main characters have died this war arc? This is a shounen and while this is certainly an interesting plot twist I fully expect a traditional shounen ending from Kishi.

He believed that Obito was making a weapon with the tailed beast to destroy the Leaf and he willingly helped. This can't be overlooked. People are dead because of him.

Kishi would send a screwed up message to the reader if Sasuke is not severely punished. Vegeta and Piccolo in Dragon Balls were punished for their crimes.

Re: Naruto V. Sasuke NOT forced

It still could happen that a talk not jutsu will bring him back.Sasuke changed his mind like over 9000(overused joke I know).Danzo hold up to his plan his entire life and ended up killed by an Uchiha.Sure their plan may have similarities but Sasuke wants to become Hokage just because of his brother while Danzo just wanted to change the world by his own mind.

They were? How? Vegeta ends up married to Bulma and lives a long happy live with his children. While Vegeta's rivalry stays intact he is not an enemy of anyone on the Z team. Piccolo also survives and becomes a valued friend to Goku. So again, explain to me how they were punished if they are not dead.

No they were not, they both repented and sacrificed themselves and where then revived.

Agreed, Naruto is a shonen manga aimed at boys between 12 and 15, it is not a Shakespeare tragedy. People read too much into Naruto, they try to make it deeper than it is, it is like those books highlighting the deep religious and political meanings in Harry Potter...

Agreed the whole point of Naruto is that he does not give up. What we encountering are people who want Sasuke dead or who want the end to be death and tragedy. We will never change there minds and they will contradict every opinion, so there is simply no point in debating it :coffee:

They both died. That's how they paid and the people they killed were revived.

Actually they died several times, death means little in Dragon Ball, if they could have only died once, Akira Toriyama would never have killed them off. Also, Piccolo never committed any crimes he was just going to and Vegeta's sacrifice was meant to rid him of his selfishness it was not a punishment, same with Piccolo.

So a shonen should be about people getting away with their crimes? Wow, you think that is they often do or should teach that to kids?
