Naruto was talking about the real Obito, the man that shared his dream. Of course the Naruto fandom is overrun by retards that take a literalist approach to everything and have no sense for nuance.

Not in the context I or naruto or Kakashi evaluate Obito.

Do you believe the Obito who sacrificed himself to save Naruto is the same as the Obito who started the war?
People change over time, Naruto is evaluating Obito based on who he is rather than what he was or what heʻs done.
You are right but given the very short time frame, what he said seemed ridiculous.

Why do those things make Naruto's words unacceptable?
because Naruto came at Madara with the belief that what Madara did/what was doing was 100% unacceptable, and Madara didn't rip a bijuu out of a woman who just gave birth to a kid, throw said kid at a ceiling with explosives attached, murder an old woman, and set a bijuu loose in a village with the intent to destroy it. What makes it worse in the funniest way is that he was that baby. But for some reason known only to Naruto, he choses to completely ignore the unthinkable stuff that ppl did in the name of their values when he decides to be FB friends with someone.

no duh, Sherlock. It still doesn't change the fact that he was speaking that highly of the same guy he was demonizing for not being the same as Nagato. Someone choosing to look at that comment at face value in that regard doesn't make a person retarded. We all got we he was saying, but it doesn't make it any less dumb.

it kind of is.

If everyone had the same level of forgiveness that Naruto has, none of the wars would have happened, and we wouldnʻt have people like madara or obito killing all these people in order to achieve a peace by delusion.

Feel like having him hokage?
absolutely.

If people look up to Naruto as the hokage who can forgive someone who wronged him that much, then theyʻll be inspired to forgive others for transgressions which in turn means no wars no fighting.

I know the reason. Do you think that Naruto would have been better off holding an eternal grudge against Obito for things he did over 15 years ago?

thats exactly what naruto said would happen if the cloud killed sasuke. the others like sakura and ino wouldnt like it and would fight back, theyd die and their parents would want revenge too. i wonder what will happen after when everyone comes to. will they hate obito? will naruto tell them to funnel their hate at him again? im curious if or how kishi will address it. will naruto bother to tell them obito helped out?
its not exactly forgivness... its more comlicated than that
madara and obito wanted a shortcut to peace, but that doesnt exist bc it was for zetsu armies lol.

Didn't he say that the Obito that wanted to become Hokage was the coolest person?

Naruto kept saying that the Obito that wore a mask (running away from his true self), isn't the real Obito and that he'll take off his mask. Naruto only acknowledges the "real Obito", the one who wanted to become Hokage.

Remember the Pain fight? Minato's speech to Naruto where he said that it's the shinobi system that creates people like Pain. Naruto said that he couldn't forgive Pain, but he chose to listen to his story first and then realized that Pain was a victim. Naruto could've gone down that path too, but it was thanks to everyone around him that made him stay true to his ideals. Obito had no one and Naruto saw his past and saw his reason for becoming like that. Then he chose to give Obito another chance and Obito redeemed himself by helping them, but Naruto said that he still had to be punished for his crimes.

So, I don't know how people don't get it when Naruto said that the Obito that wanted to become Hokage was the coolest person to him. He chooses not to accept the villian Obito as a part of the "real Obito".

Naruto has the heart of a child. Forgiveness is hard but it is the most important virtue! If we learn anything from Naruto it should be that we cannot achieve peace through hatred and contempt! We must move forward and see the good in everyone including ourselves!

No child would forgive that.

Forgiveness and praise are two very different things. It's not about the forgiving part. I pretty much got over that mediocre incompetent trash. It's about his ability to call someone awesome even after they permanently damaged your life and everyone else's all because he shared the same dream as you.

The idea of forgiveness in this manga is utter shit but the approval and praise worthy acknowledgment of someone evil is even more shit.

Would you consider Naruto's life damaged, knowing where he is now?

how will they abuse that forgiveness? Naruto might have forgiven obito, but that doesnʻt mean obito wasnʻt going to get prosecuted for his crimes had he survived the war.

And the reason Naruto ʻforgaveʻ Obito was because Obito truly changed. Obito proved this by sacrificing his life for naruto and the shinobi alliance, plus Naruto can sense negative emotions, and could see Obitoʻs heart. So if thatʻs what it takes in order to convince Naruto that someone has changed, then how can someone abuse his forgiveness?
