Naruto actually is kind of simple if you look at it in a development kind of way. Naruto's character is linear he started at a low point as an underdog and has since just continued to rise higher and higher without taking a step back. He continues to overcome challenges without breaking his code and that is kinda boring imo
Its kind of the reverse for me, I find Naruto's development more interesting because its linear, he sticks to his beliefs and as he learns and grows his beliefs and view of the world evolves rather then changes.
Sasuke swings way too much, he switches from good to bad at the drop of a hat and changes his opinion on everything every other arc, its just gotten so unrealistic.
I would find his story more appealing if he went from good to bad then back to good if it was done in a more linear way, but he just flips back and forth, and it happens way too often.
A perfect example is most recently, he goes planning to destroy the Leaf and kill Naruto, he almost killed Karin and abandoned Juugo and Suigetsu.
Then Itachi shows up and a few chapters later after a history lesson with the Hokage he is a good guy again showing up to help Naruto, and despite betraying every member of Taka they just come right on back without any consequences what so ever.
Its just pushing the realism of how people function too much.
He just notice that sasuke is the only only that ain't looking down on him like everybody else. So he consider him his first real friend because of that. But he clearly forgetting the fact that Sasuke got his own life to deal with. So really naruto just being selfish. Naruto just need to fall back and stop acting like he understand sasuke's pain. When he said, that their roles could easily be reverse or sasuke wouldn't have be a uchiha and he don't have to be tail beast boy, Im like wtf!! That was a direct insult to Sasuke. That was like saying I pity you and i care for you because you're black so i wanna save you.
Karin's obsession is karin's obsession lol.
You do realize that the punishment for leaving the village and joining an enemy of the village is death right.
If it wasn't for Naruto, the village would have sent a strike team to kill him, he wouldn't have made it to Orochimaru alive.
Naruto was trying to save his life.
