His obsession isn't an obsession, it is like brotherly love, they even have the chakra of the same brothers. Aren't you the one who was defending Karin's obsession?
Then you don't know what an obsession is.

Not true at all, any Naruto fan can do exactly what you did in reverse and hype Naruto while giving Sasuke his feats.
Funny, because only Naruto fans are typing this.

Development is development. Choosing to die with someone instead of fulfilling your life long dream has to be the dumbest negative development ever. Crying for fodders in a war when you should be standing firm like a ninja and facing the enemy at hand, and yet Naruto is supposed to be the power weapon for this war? Lol what a joke. The only reason why you are arguing with me is because you can't prove that what I said is wrong.

If you believe that you can make a thread to hype of NARUTO'S DEVELOPMENT then go ahead. I doubt it will be better than Sasuke.

Naruto actually is kind of simple if you look at it in a development kind of way. Naruto's character is linear he started at a low point as an underdog and has since just continued to rise higher and higher without taking a step back. He continues to overcome challenges without breaking his code and that is kinda boring imo
Its kind of the reverse for me, I find Naruto's development more interesting because its linear, he sticks to his beliefs and as he learns and grows his beliefs and view of the world evolves rather then changes.

Sasuke swings way too much, he switches from good to bad at the drop of a hat and changes his opinion on everything every other arc, its just gotten so unrealistic.

I would find his story more appealing if he went from good to bad then back to good if it was done in a more linear way, but he just flips back and forth, and it happens way too often.

A perfect example is most recently, he goes planning to destroy the Leaf and kill Naruto, he almost killed Karin and abandoned Juugo and Suigetsu.

Then Itachi shows up and a few chapters later after a history lesson with the Hokage he is a good guy again showing up to help Naruto, and despite betraying every member of Taka they just come right on back without any consequences what so ever.

Its just pushing the realism of how people function too much.

He just notice that sasuke is the only only that ain't looking down on him like everybody else. So he consider him his first real friend because of that. But he clearly forgetting the fact that Sasuke got his own life to deal with. So really naruto just being selfish. Naruto just need to fall back and stop acting like he understand sasuke's pain. When he said, that their roles could easily be reverse or sasuke wouldn't have be a uchiha and he don't have to be tail beast boy, Im like wtf!! That was a direct insult to Sasuke. That was like saying I pity you and i care for you because you're black so i wanna save you.

Karin's obsession is karin's obsession lol.
You do realize that the punishment for leaving the village and joining an enemy of the village is death right.

If it wasn't for Naruto, the village would have sent a strike team to kill him, he wouldn't have made it to Orochimaru alive.

Naruto was trying to save his life.

What "development?"

He was an EMO narcissist in part one and he is still an EMO narcissist.

Now I do believe kishimoto,is about to mature him as closure to his role in the manga and as a result of the character discovering that his view of what was wrong had no basis. But at the moment, he has not changed in the slightest.
Sadly, the remaining nine chapters will not make up for years of neglect.

Awesome read, i completely agree with you on all points, and it sums up a large part of the reason why Sasuke's my second favourite character. At first i hated how meeting with Itachi ultimately made him do another 180, but it has indeed matured Sasuke into the realist he is now. I can't wait to see his closure...

As little as it is, have my +1 rep.

There's issues with both of their characters from a writing stand-point but I do find Sasuke the more interesting of the two, and not just by a bit. Naruto is too much of a goody-2-shoes for my liking... not to mention his character for the longest time has been the epitome of 'static' and white area.

There's a reason why in the past when Sasuke returns from one of his big ass Hiatus's everyone, Sasuke fan or not get hyped because whenever he returns people know the the plot tends to move forward. He simply makes the story far more interesting and brings much more hype consistently.

An example is after he and Itachi defeated Kabuto. He was then out of the picture for several chapters, and the stuff we was seeing [Naruto's repetitive and corny speeches, the lame 'who can make the biggest explosion' fights] resulted in a lot of complaints. I remember back then, tons of people were begging for Sasuke to come back, to "save" the war so to speak.

I'm back. Losing compassion (and Naruto has a lot of that) does not make character development. And without Naruto, they would have lost the war, although the same could be said for Sasuke.

Everyone was mostly hyped to see who was the people who know everything. There was speculation about where Sasuke would play a hand in the war after Orochimaru was newly resurrected.

Most people figured it was a power-up and Sauce was getting some sort of DSM variant or meet the SOSP.

I skipped several chapters during the start of war. Was tired of reading/seeing Naruto do the same shit over and over. I was hoping to see the raikage more back then.

I remember I was mentally begging Kishimoto and praying, thinking of all things holy like unicorns and god, to bring Sasuke back. Naruto's gag-worthy corn-dog speeches were too sappy and sloppy to handle. A man can only endure so much, and I have had enough of Naruto's parrot-in-repeat-mode nonsense.

U aren't alone a lot of ppl find linear good it's much easier to follow, but u have to realize that Sasuke is a character who originally believed in a lie so as Sasuke learned more about the truth and the world his own viewpoint changed. Sasuke has always kept the same goal, which is justice for his clan, but if u both with good and evil u will just confuse yourself. Sasuke is pure meaning he is only doing what he thinks should be done whether right by public standard or not

Exactly what I was saying, he goes from wanting to destroy the village and kill everyone to wanting to lead it.

What on Earth, is going through his head, he spent time talking about killing everyone and left the village and killed Danzo (who despite being a total jerk was a Hokage candidate and a powerful, as well as influential man) and he thinks he can just waltz right back in and become Hokage?

What kind of guy thinks that?

That aspect just killed his development to me, its just plain ridiculous, I understood his development up to that point.

Give me a break. Naruto's main purpose in this war was to protect his friends. He even went on to Itachi about how it's his duty to protect everyone and stop the war. (Another reason why Naruto's development Is annoying) Now that his fodder teammates are losing and dying he decides to cry and let Juubito do whatever he wants. He can only get back up when he sees someone else ready to go (Sasuke). Don't give me that bs of "losing hope doesn't equal development" when Naruto was so confident in saving everyone and being a true savior and now he wants to start crying just because things aren't going his way.

From killing his brother and discovering the secret of his brothers true intentions to wanting to protect what his brother wanted.

Sauce wanting to become Hurrkage is an instant 180 degree turn, it's forced and just plain stupid

I said this once and I will say it again: Naruto's character is consistent while Sasuke's is erratic.
There is no such thing as consistency in character development. You are either flat or you are round / static or developing. Case closed.
