And if he gets sliced, he can just stretch his body to the other half and reconnect himself. When Law slices up a person the 2 body parts usually don't go far from each other.

Because Law would just let Luffy do this. Nothing is stopping Law from cutting Luffy up the same way he did to Vergo, which would make Luffy unable to just pull himself together. Also, Luffy seemed to have a dazed reaction to being Shambled this past chapter, meaning if Law Shambled Luffy away from his parts, Luffy may not react in a suitable way to pull himself back together in time

Luffy's DF allows him to stretch his body to his other half IF it gets cut by Law so its not GG if Law cuts him once.

Let's say Luffy rushes at Law, and Law cuts him like he did Vergo. If Luffy is rushing at Law, the momentum he built up would cause his upper body to go flying away from his lower body. Luffy has to locate where his lower body is, stretch his arms, grab it, and pull it to him. All Law has to do is cross his fingers, and Luffy's lower body is as far away as a mountain stretches. Or, sends Luffy's upper body far away, and dump his lower body into a body of water, draining Luffy's strength.

I had this same argument with Riker Slade on Skype a month or two ago and he actually brought up some really compelling arguments for Laws side :/ only thing is I can't see him being stronger than Luffy...

I'll go with a tie on this one.
