Also pay a note that Kakashi is the only one who never wanted to become Hokage in the first place. Almost everyone in Konoha expressed their desire to become Hokage, but Kakashi was just like "meh? I was never interested to begin with".

It would be kinda the best thing for Kishi to name Hokage the one who had no interest in occupying the position in the first place because he could view and make use of the post differently than others especially when talking about someone with Kakashi's intelligence, genius and experience, valuating the life of his friends more than anything else

Yes but the Obito before that never did that. That is the one he respected. He killed his parents and made the uchiha a suspect. Yet he came in the way of the Savior that is Naruto to save the future. Had he never done that there would be No Uchiha, No Uzamaki, No future.

If you wanna mention his crimes in recent times than also mention his good deeds to. If it wasn't for him Sasuke would not have made it to the battle field. Its thanks to Obito and Sakura that Team Seven even has a chance to save the future now. That to me has more weight age than anything he's done in the past.
