Well, while realistically that should be true, it's probably not in Naruto. Once Kaguya ate the fruit nothing about it changed her DNA and yet she passed on the Rinnegan to Hagoromo because the Sharinnegan devolved. I don't see why the same can't happen here.

The fruit probably did change her DNA though. Since her children were now born with chakra already in their bodies.
