and helped start another. Take it how you want.

i'll tell you what's beyond me: ppl knowingly go into a thread that invites opposing opinions and display the personality of crybabies because someone would dare say something that goes against their fandom/opinion. I only see one party getting emotional to the point of telling ppl here to the point of telling someone to "GTFOH" o: Itachi fans/fanboys. What he did is in the manga for everybody to see and formulate their own opinions off of. Nobody has to 100% agree with someone's ideology/actions solely because some protagonist character says it was ok. I have my own mind and since it is an open thread for anyone to voice their thoughts on, i can go in any thread and say what i want so long as i do it within the rules.

If i know one thing, it's this: in my exp, no matter what forum i am part of, Itachi's fanbase are among the ones that are never able to handle some real talk. If you didn't have such trouble reading the context of sentences, you would know that this is a straight, unemotional observation. If you can't handle it, that's your problem. I don't give my opinions in a thread like this to pander to fanbases. If you thought i did, then you thought wrong.

He didn't help start another war. He was a spy he didn't even capture a bijuu. He let kisame fight alone most of the time.

If Itachi was alive he would've been the greatest Kage in the verse.

P.S. I'm not an Itachi fan but this is FACT. :hint:

I'm not an itachi fan so lets get that straight. I'm just not biased like everyone here.

So the 3rd hokage is a criminal for letting itachi join the akatsuki as a spy right?

Well lets see, he is way wiser than Minato and Tsunade, whom pretty much looked like a naive child and a nostalgic gambler respectively to me.

He is one of the most commited(if not the most) Leaf Shinobi.

Itachi never really worried during a fight, he always was in control, if you analize it, all the hits he took were mostly his intention to begin with, or had the battle wrapped up form the beggining. If Kishi made a really unbeatable character, it was Itachi, not because of Raw power, but because of the character design.

He is by far the most praised character, and the only one who planned his death, TWICE.

Come to think about it, he would probably make the best Hokage in history. But then again, the story would be way more boring.

Plus: He was the only MS user alive at that point, not counting Obito.

if a wolf in a pack eats a deer's leg, is it any less responsible than the wolf that ripped out the deer's throat?
itachis an accomplice to murder and terrorism by standing there and letting it all happen.
what kind of information was he passing out that made helping to give obito nukes, so worth it? the answer is nothing. nothing made it worth it.

So the 3rd hokage is a criminal for letting itachi join the akatsuki as a spy right?
hes an idiot for sending in someone that fukin incompetant and untrusting.
itachi could have been in obitos inner circle HAD HE NOT ALREADY MADE IT CLEAR TO OBITO WHOS SIDE HES ON.

Well lets see, he is way wiser than Minato and Tsunade, whom pretty much looked like a naive child and a nostalgic gambler respectively to me.
lol no. being experienced doesnt mean your wise. whats so wise about helping terrorists, murdering innocent people, torturing sasuke to insanity and unleashing him on the world etc?
itachi was being the naive one thinking he could give a kid hatred and expect them not to turn evil.

because he spammed hax. who wouldnt be confident having the ability to trap people in illusions with one glance?
theres no real strategy there, just spamming hax.

He is by far the most praised character, and the only one who planned his death, TWICE.
hes the most praised ebcause when hes talked about, every single character turns into a fanboying moron apologist.
the only one who saw itachi for the bullshit he was truly spewing was orochimaru, who admired him for his strength but nothing else.

he would probably make the best Hokage in history.
yeah he sure endeared us to that, with all his murder sprees, torture of innocent people and vicious beatings of his own brother

Itachi solos, so of course he would be a good Hokage.

Not to mention he was a better shinobi than Hashirama, as stated by Hashirama himself.

No, not Hiruzen.

I'm just sayin some people choose to not look beyond aesthetics like an akatsuki robe.
Even tough he pretty much has not helped akatsuki at all, they keep saying he helped to start another 4th shinobi war.
This is hilarious and absurd since he has not captured 1 tailed beasts and refused to kill konoha shinobi when he had the chance

I guess it depends on the timeline, but Shisui was another Mangekyo user alive.

do i need to use my wolf analogy again?
itachi helped by not hindering. thats called obstruction, aiding and abetting and being an accomplice to murder and terrorism in todays terms.
nothing he did via spy work was made worth it, because akatsuki was not hindered by itachis efforts, and not brought down by the info he supposedly was leaking.
he captured roshi. not personally but his partner and friend did.
itachi cold have taken out kisame, or offered to capture roshi alone and then "fail to capture him" by letting him go. there was so many things itachi could have done to hinder or sabotage akatsuki. the reason he couldnt get away with it and the reason he was a shit spy is because he had already TOLD OBITO HIS TRUE LOYALTIES like a dumbass

Not to mention he was a better shinobi than Hashirama, as stated by Hashirama himself.
he is a shit shinobi and a vicious selfish bastard.
hashirama only knows cliffnotes and a wikipedia page about itachi at best. no not even that. a few biased choice sentences from hiruzen and sasuke who both dont even know the full details like itachi trying to kill kakashi for no reason

Bro take my advice, about spending less time thinking about Itachi, and actually go find a girl or something. Kishi portrayed him as a hero, and his statements stomps any hater's appreciation.

kishi portrayed him as a vicious evil psychopath. its just himself, the characters in-universe and the fans seem oblivious to this.
he made a huge mistake trying to whitewash and justify his life when hes already beyond all justification or redemption by torturing 12 year old sasuke into a coma.
no hero would do this. no anti hero would do this. no person with any kind of respect for humanity, loyalty and others' feelings would do this to someone let alone a 12 year old let alone their own brother.

Actually there is a pic with like at least 20 panels of just people praising him including hashirama and a shitload of others for what a hero/great shinobi he is.
Not many people(i dont think even 2) call him an evil psycopath or anything even remotely close tot that.

Your statement (fueled by hate and anger...) about him being evil psycopath instead of a hero is nullified by Kishi's portrayal in his manga. If you dont agree, make your own manga and put Itachi as the main character with everyone saying he is evil and throw as much shit at him as you can.
Just 700 chapters of fanfic where Itachi is portrayed as an evil psycopath, instead of Madara.
oh snap

Go for it. You will have all the Itachi haters support you on this one. I bet they would even wanna join you bahahah

What others think of Itachi is irrelevant. What matters is his actions Hashirama doesn't know the full extent of Itachi's brutal crimes against humanity. He was merely told titbits of it by Hiruzen and Sasuke. He doesn't know that Itachi brutally tortured a child(twice!) into insanity, committed high treason to his country, did nothing stop Akatsuki and gave no intel to Konoha. He basically sat on his ass for 8 years and let terrorists obtain nukes. He brutally tortured Kakashi and declared war on his people. Those are all things Hashirama doesn't know.

No it's not! Have you ever heard of the term "designated hero"? Plug that into tv tropes and you would know that it happens all the time in fiction. Itachi's hype of being a hero is completely nullified by the fact that he brutally tortured a child into insanity for no reason other than deluded loyalty to a corrupt, genocidal and imperialistic village.

Kishi speaks through his characters what he wants the reader to know about him.
Even if he tortured Sasuke, he didnt care after he found out the truth, he still called Itachi perfect among other things.

If Kishi's characters say something, its basically what Kishi wants the reader to understand.

If so many people(20 plus) praised Itachi's various deeds and deemed him as a hero and great shinobi, it means he is portrayed as a hero, not as an evil psycopath.

I guess you could call Hashirama evil because he didnt kill Madara earlier, before he found out how to obtain the rinnegan, and all of this is Hashirama's fault. Damn this Hashirama.
Who cares if he is portrayed as kind and a good person by various people?

Kishimoto is wrong!

I don't give a damn what Sasuke said about Itachi. Not only is he biased, but when he said Itachi was perfect, he was an enraged psychopathic and confused nutjob. Plus Sasuke doesn't know the full extent of Itachi's brutal crimes against humanity either.

I don't give a damn. Actions speak louder than words. Kishi's character say that Itachi is a hero, when the reality is that he's a brutal, mindraping, genocidal and exceedingly vicious madman.

If so many people(20 plus) praised Itachi's various deeds and deemed him as a hero and great shinobi, it means he is portrayed as a hero, not as an evil psycopath.

Irrelevant. Hashirama tried to reason with Madara, and he eventually got through to him. It's only when Madara fell victim to the curse of hatred again that he killed him. That's why Hashirama is a hero, violence is not the first choice for him. Also, torturing someone into insanity is arguably worse than killing someone.

Kishimoto is wrong!

EXACTLY. how can you portray someone as a villain by showing them doing so many horrible things and then have characters like hashirama turn around and say hes a hero for it?
thats called designated hero, and a mary sue.
but i would say itachis a jerk sue.
he treats everyone around him like a piece of shit but is instantly forgiven because hes the "perfect prodigy who is so noble for his sacrifice"
even though the uchiha genocide was a warcrime and an atrocity to begin with.

bout him being evil psycopath instead of a hero is nullified by Kishi's portrayal in his manga. If you dont agree, make your own manga and put Itachi as the main character with everyone saying he is evil and throw as much shit at him as you can.
its nullified by how he ACTUALLY is written.
kishi has people saying itachi is a hero because he has failed to realise he wrote a villain and not a hero, according to my morality.
i dont have to sacrifice and dispense of MY morality and what i view as wrong, just because an author thinks he can whitewash and sweep it all under the rug.
itachis a villain because he has done villainous things according to my viewpoint.
you are obviously ok with itachi torutring murdering and enslaving innocent people, and generally committing treason, atrocities and manipulations across the world.
im not. simple as that.

Not many people(i dont think even 2) call him an evil psycopath or anything even remotely close tot that.
i dont care. i can because thats what i think he is.
morality is not ruled by the majority or else slavery in our world would still be seen as legitimate and legal.
with slavery, some people started shouting "HEY. WE SHOULDNT DO THAT" and that began that whole movement. same with black rights, and womens rights.
im unpopular now because i think mindrape is not heroic but imagine in 50 years, people will be absolutely disgusted by what im seeing here in this forum, with apologists going around saying hes a hero for torturing innocent people.

Just 700 chapters of fanfic where Itachi is portrayed as an evil psycopath, instead of Madara.
what do you mean instead of madara? madaras worse than he is. doesnt mean itachis a hero. just slightly less of a evil villain than his uchiha brethren are.

"So how was your day?" "***** stfu Itachi is evil monster ***** stfu"
thats funny because sakura haters are the same.
"so ussj how are you going?"
"sakura was awesome this week"
"STFU YOU SAKURA VAGINA LICKER SHES A USELESS BIT CH"

Kishi speaks through his characters what he wants the reader to know about him.
kishi speaks through his drawings portraying itahcis actions, as what he wants the reader to know about him.
itachi tortures innocent people, beats his brother inot a coma, lies, manipulates, orders attempted murders and aids a terrorist organisation in stealing living nukes.
whatever hashirama thinks he knows about itachi, is not as much as what we as readers know about him given we were privy to actions of itachi that no one else ever actually saw or reported about.
such as him telling sasuke to kill his own friends.

Even if he tortured Sasuke, he didnt care after he found out the truth, he still called Itachi perfect among other things.
sasuke didnt care because he was so psychologically destroyed and manipulated that he COULDNT care. all he could focus on was who made him and his brother suffer and become that way in the first place.
he didnt care that itachi beat him to near death because he accepted obitos bullshit justification of "it was to make you stronger" hook line and sinker. but again, sasuke was so mentally damaged that thats all he could do.
he didnt listen when itachi said that he was just a failure because he didnt want to listen. its too inconveniant for sasukes revenge desires.
so dont compare me with sasuke.
i can objectively see the situation unlike sasuke who was the person suffering and getting his sanity ripped apart by a madman.

If so many people(20 plus) praised Itachi's various deeds and deemed him as a hero and great shinobi, it means he is portrayed as a hero, not as an evil psycopath.
if itachis various actions are shown to us ON PANEL IN DETAIL then that means he is portrayed as having done those things.
but that the author is trying to "justify" and whitewash those actions via characters in universe saying its ok and heroic.
but that doesnt work.
in twilight you could have the vampires say bella is an inncoent perfect little dove for 600 chapters but it wouldnt change the fact that we are objectively seeing her be a whiny manipulative monster stringing along two guys, both of which are pretty much creepy ass holes themselves.
and no matter how many times bella says edwards perfect, it wouldnt change his creepy ass controlling behavour. it just so happens meyer saw nothing wrong with edwards behavour and as a result no one calls either of them on it.
just read this
and see how many "heroes" are treated as such by the author and characters, but are objectively at best jerks and at worst monsters.

how can you have a work of fiction that requires the audience to completely ignore and sacrifice everything that they see as wrong or bad, just so the author can have his way?
"genocides good because kishi implied it is"
i could write a book that paints bestiality as the most loving relationship in the world and have every character spout nonsense supporting this notion, but i dont expect my audience to go along with it and do anything but look at me in disgust for trying to push that viewpoint.

kishi can push whatever viewpoint he wants. im not saying he cant.
but please dont expect me to take it like a prison rape victim and ignore my own views on life and morals. hes a designated hero sociopathic nominal hero.
thats how i see it. fault me for that, i dont care.

I guess you could call Hashirama evil because he didnt kill Madara earlier, before he found out how to obtain the rinnegan, and all of this is Hashirama's fault. Damn this Hashirama.
Who cares if he is portrayed as kind and a good person by various people?
not even close to the same thing.
yes i dont care how hashirama is portrayed in-story.
but objectively, hashirama is a heroic man who has shown forgiveness, compassion, humility and honesty. hes almost the superman of naruto. or the dumbledore. all qualities that the vicious manipulative ruthless itachi lacked.
naruto was hated for 12 years of his life. does that mean i should too? sorry but i dont go along with majorities so easily and i dont like being told by an author how to think and who to forgive.

crimes against humanity =)))))
ok what other shit has he done besides the massacre of uchiha that can be called "brutal crimes against humanity" that Sasuke doesn't know of??

I don't give a damn. Actions speak louder than words. Kishi's character say that Itachi is a hero, when the reality is that he's a brutal, mindraping, genocidal and exceedingly vicious madman.

Brutal? I'd say gentle
Mindraping? If he wanted to, he was master of genjutsu after all, maybe, but usually not
Genocidal? Killing a clan which were plottin to kill the leaders and put the village and civilians and the whole city in a state of civil war and prone to invasions from other countries, risking the destruction of whole village, I wouldn't call it genocidal. Were they innocent? Not all, but definitely most. I would say more of a cereal killer :p
vicious madman? More of a kind and gentle, calm, collected assassin

Again, actions speak louder than words. Most of those characters don't know the full extent of Itachi's brutal crimes against humanity. He showed us that he was an evil psychopath when he committed genocide(instead of trying to prove the Uchihas innocent) and brutally torturing Sasuke, breaking his bones and beating him into a coma, hence turning him into a vicious supervillain.

Most characters dont know the full extent of his deeds, but whatever they do know(massacre), they didnt call him a psycopath instead a kind gentle Hashirama actually praised him as a great shinobi and didnt talk shit about him.

He couldnt prove Uchihas innocent since they were not innocent. Are you saying planning a coup d'etat and killing the leaders is innocence?

Brutally torturing sasuke was wrong, true. He is not a vicious supervillain tough. Come on now, he is fighting to save humanity and people around earth. I thought you were confortable with knowing dem literary terms. He is not a vicious supervillain

Irrelevant. Hashirama tried to reason with Madara, and he eventually got through to him. It's only when Madara fell victim to the curse of hatred again that he killed him. Agreed.

He could've killed him at the uchiha shrine, he knew Madara turned evil, but he let him make plans and attack the village, take a part of Hashi's meat and implanted into him mutating his eyes. Hmmmmm

And also, Sasuke is not insane. I'd say Juugo was insane when he turns into a beast because he is indeed a madman. Sasuke getting angry in the midst of a battle does not make him insane. At most times he is also calm/collected, up to some extent.
You are misusing words here.
