If you're trying for a 5th time you clearly haven't gone very far. Read the Manga. It's MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better than the Anime!

I like it because:
-The variation of powers, fights etc. means it is never the same old thing over and over again
-There are so many badasses
-The plot is incredibly intricate, well developed and well sustained plot from any Manga I've read (and I've read A LOT)
-Character development is incredible
-Random Powerups not included
-Oda is the foreshadowing master
-The fights have great choreography
-The art is very fun to look at!
-One Piece taught me many lessons while growing up about friendship and family
-Nothing is ever obvious
-Due to the latter this makes every plot twist and sudden introduction incredible
-We're along for the entire ride
-There's always that sense of adventure that other Manga lack. I've only ever felt it with One Piece and HxH
-Monkey D. Luffy is a much better main protagonist than any other
-The names aren't boring regular Japanese names
-Oda had sparked my interest in folklore and mythology as he uses it a lot
-The villains are just incredible! Doflamingo, Blackbeard, Sakazuki, Crocodile, Rob Lucci... These are just a handful of the many epic villains in the Manga
-Expansive universe full of diversity
-Most importantly of all it's hilarious!

Thank you very much for you honest input and I will start reading it again and i will take your advice on reading it first.

Simply: It's always fun to watch/read OP.

Thank you, the way everyone is making it seem like they are a kid again reading this manga

watch the first episode of the enies lobby arc

youll see why I love lufffy and OP

Will do and thanks for the tip!

It's really boring until the alabasta arc so it took me like 4 or 5 tries to get hooked on it. However, it's the greatest manga of all time when you get hooked on it

Phew I thought i was the only one who felt this way, but thanks Im going to give it another shot!!

Sanji and nami's flashback.

I'm going to be looking into it right now

I forgot to mention:

The heroes of the story are the villains of the story... Pretty interesting huh?

Here's an AMV showing you some of the awesome stuff that has happened in the series

Its very interesting and thanks for the video that was pretty bad*ss

Lol i will keep that in mind. So then it's a simple manga to keep up with?

remember what i said: you have everything , but don't take the word literally too seriously. it's kind of difficult to keep up with the series you have an ammount of things going on and oda ties almost everything perfectly ... or some previous arcs in the current arcs , for example, we , in the manga are in the arc of dressrosa , the main villain is Doflamingo , but the main guy that they're looking for is kaido , that guy is a huge threat and i mean REALLY HUGE and the first arc that we heard about the name kaido was at thriller bark , the guy who talked about him was Moria , and we have 2 more arcs going on that tie with dressrosa or more , 4 arcs which is: the flashback of lufy , alabasta , skypiea and marineford as you can see it's pretty complex the story and that's one more of the reasons why we like so much about one piece oh and thanks for the rep

Watch the OP in 10 min amv

It's just too hard to explain why Op fans like OP so much, it's weird, you either don't like it (in some cases hate it :/) or you become a fan and love it more than anything (in most cases)

Arguably, theres build-up but it drags on, The first few seasons are hard to get into until the Arlong Park, but then after that it slows down til Enies Lobby.

I am going to look into this from what it seems like Enies Lobby is a good arc from alot of people here

You weren't joking about the complexity of the series. But I do like that because it keeps it interesting and doesn't bore so often. Thank you

One piece is not for everyone. I love One piece because of the likeable characters, interesting story and just fun to read in general. It's definitely really slow paced.

It would seem this manga goes both ways for people to like or hate it but thanks both of you for your input i appreciate it.

I got attached to the whole crew almost immediately after each of them where introduced. And Oda is a Boss so..

I suggest instead of reading into the series context etc. you might as well start :p

Give it 40ish chaps.

I already started and Im at the 10th chapter now. Im going to see it through this time and get an overall input and so that I'm not lost

I hate questions like these for the reason I would put down points why it's great and then over the next few days keep remembering more and more...it would irritate me :T_T:

Basically if you want to know just search for threads like these and look at responses by the majority of us that have already been posted a million times over.

It's my favorite anime, it has some of the most craziest and badass characters! It's hilarious and gives you chills when emotional shit goes down. The fights are like amazing and erythang ^^ legit, best anime, ever.
