@Numbers , everytime I see you post something about AoT is always something negative , I have no idea why you keep reading the manga , you are clearly hating ........Mikasa has her own backstory on why she is like this , she is a leader & loyal ......is not that she only cares about Eren , because she doesn't , it's call being grateful to someone who saved you from the people who murdered your family right in front of you , so Imo her feelings are understandable .
I don't really, the arts terrible. It's a good anime, above average bloodpumper with good cliffhangers- I like it. But Mikasa without the 'Tripod theory' really isn't much- and that's basically saying that she's lacklustre without the support of other characters.
I know exactly what i'm talking about thanks, and whilst characters like Armin or Eren crumble when the tripod is broken they're at least still interesting to watch. The only time I DID find Mikasa interesting was ironically when Eren was 'dead' and Mikasa and Armin both went into a weird state. Seperate Mikasa from Eren more and develop her and then I won't say it again...but it's not really happening- which is a shame imo. Makes me feel like i'm holding out on a Sakura Haruno all over again. Maybe her day will come, maybe it never will.
And yes, whatever your excuse Mikasa clearly does embody the anime audience that want OP silent badassery a la Itachi Uchiha or Ichigo but in a manga that is run by the emotional side of the story and a manga that actually has more depth than a standard shonen you can't just have that. You can't just have a tank and make it a girl and call that your character.
Most of this target demographic similarly don't like Eren that much- a lot of the tumblr base anyway finding him 'immature' and 'annoying'. And this is because of the age group of AoTs demographic are teens, they find childish feelings like revenge and tantrums embarrassing and want to think of themselves more mature, and so- by default you've got a quiet solitary strong girl. For the same reason NB users find themselves oddly attached to the hyped likes of Itachi and Minato and Madara or whoever is the hottest sh*t of the week is the same reason people like Mikasa and Levi- and I think you know that. There's just no place in a revolutionary manga to have this outdated shallow cliches.
Edit : Oh & I find it laughable how Kabuto who is loyal to someone who basically saved him after killing his mother & took care of him for years .....you're okey with that , but not Mikasa lol oh & if you haven't notice Mikasa , along with Eren & Armin are all psychopaths , so they are also not very well form the head either + Mikasas character is still development .
aaaaaaand more people trying to use Kabuto against me? ok lets sort this out
a.) Kabuto is not a main character. The manga doesn't depend on him to develop but yet he did so anyway.
b.) Kabuto's sneaky personality and unpredictability makes his relationship with Orochimaru very unclear. Could've been using him, could've legitimately respected him, could've hated the man...that already is not as straight-forward as it seems.
c.) Loyalty doesn't even come into it, that's not the reason anybody should really like a character and even so Kabuto doesnt even really have it. He healed Hinata in the chunnin exams, he will trash talk Naruto to his face but to his henchmen tell them to watch out for him, it's clear he conflicted with Orochimaru on many occasions...what i'm saying is he's a wildcard, I don't think in Part One he ever really had a moral side, just what benefited him the most. Mikasa and Kabuto are nothing alike bub. Try batman.
