K11 went on the mission to retrieve sasuke, Gai is not a member of k11 so that was not his mission.

He was on a mission, so he couldn't participate in that event, last I checked doing missions and completing them means you contributed to the village.

Everyone failed to stop Godara more than once and are continuing to fail at stopping Godara. It was never anyone's single job to stop madara alone, even when 8th gate Gai faced Godara he did so while being aided by bm minato, kakashi and gaara.


8th gate is avoidable is you kill gai before he reaches it but that is very hard to accomplish especially since his 7th gate puts him on par with bm naruto and ems sasuke. In 7th gate he is the fastest shinobi outside of sage power ups, he is the only shinobi to hit juubi jin without a sage power up.
