Also I think it would make more sense that they can't directly battle against Kaguya, because with all the hype she is essentially the most powerful being in the Narutoverse, and basically an evil god.

I think it would be better for her to be the evil pulling the strings with Madara as the "final boss" villain. (Not counting the Naruto vs Sasuke battle.)

Yes. In an interview or whatever, Kishi said Madara was the final obstacle. That'd still be true if, say, Kaguya/Juubi takes over his body.
But also, Kishi over exaggerates in interviews to keep people reading. Like when he said Edo Madara was completely invincible... Or... That's really the only example people have given me.

Didn't Madara need Obito to do all the work in order to gain power, that's what a puppet is for.

And if Kaguya wasn't going to play a big role, we wouldn't keep seeing her.
