People say the war arc sucks , which I personally don't get! This has been an epic war in my opinion!
For those of you who bash the war, why do you hate it so much? Before you answer, let me remind you about the following things:
1. The power levels have gone through the roof in this war! It is so epic in my opinion. The following main and supporting characters have gotten stronger or showcased something new that we didn't expect them to have:
Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi (his skill with Kamui improved), Guy (8 gates), Lee (6th gate), Choji (butterfly mode), Kiba (3 headed dog jutsu), Hinata (8 trigrams 64 palms combined w/ twin lion fist) , Shino (giant bug jutsu), Ino (mind body clone jutsu and telepathy), Obito, Madara, Hashirama (before this war, all we had to go on was that trashy edo version that fought Hiruzen), Tobirama (same explanation as Hashirama), Hiruzen, Minato, Itachi, Kabuto, Karin, Juubi, etc... The list goes on and on.
2. We have gotten plenty of deaths! After all, we have gotten Neji, Shikaku, Inoichi, Ao, Mabui, Neji, Bee and over 40,000 shinobi. Therefore, you are lying and simply denying facts for the sake of bashing if you say that there have been no deaths.
3. For those of you who hate it when the hero always wins, Madara has been on a roll lately! He defeated a bunch of people, he became the Shinju's jinchuuriki and he just casted infinite tsukuyomi!!! I once had a debate with a member on this base who said that nothing ever goes in the villains' favor. Well look at things now! What more can you ask for? Sure Madara will lose in the end, but that is inevitable. I don't even think Kishi is even allowed to have Madara just win entirely. Plus, I am sure we can all see that this is not that type of manga where the villain wins in the end. If you wanted that type, then you should have read something else.
4. We finally met the sage of the 6 paths and learned about Kaguya.
5. For the pairing lovers, multiple pairings have had little moments (ie. Naruto/Hinata holding hands, Minato saying that Sakura reminds him of Kushina, etc...)
6. There have been many other powerful edo tenseis that we didn't know about before the war (2nd mizukage, 2nd tuschikage, 3rd raikage, 4th kazekage, Kin/Gin bros, Obito's 6 jinchuuriki paths, Dan Kato, 7 shinobi swordsmen, etc...)
7. For those who like blasts to the past, we got some of those (w/ edo akautski members, edo Zabuza/ Haku, etc...)
8. We've gotten back stories on many characters (Kabuto, Obito, Hashirama, Madara, Hagoromo, etc...)
9. The juubi was epic!!! It did exactly what a monster like it was supposed to do! It almost destroyed the alliance and Naruto so many times!! There were multiple instances of the juubi almost firing off bijuu damas that the alliance had to be saved from (like the time when Ino had to posess Obito for the first time to redirect that bijuudama from Naruto, or when Bee went 8 tails mode and pushed the juubi's bijuudama back into its own mouth with one of his own bijuudamas, or when Minato saved the alliance the first time). There was also when the juubi used tenpenchii which would have killed everyone if it wasn't for Naruto's cloaks! There were also the wooden spikes that killed Neji and many other shinobi (and would have killed Naruto if Neji hadn't jumped in the way). There was also one time where the juubi could have eaten Minato and Sasuke (it was that time when the juubi almost grabbed the two with its chakara arms, but Naruto saved them with his own chakara arms. The chapter was the one where Obito became the juubi's jinchuuriki.
You may say "should've could've would've" , but I must once again remind you that this is not a tragic ending manga! Therefore, "almost" and "should've could've would've" are the closest that antagonistic forces can get!! I don't know why people don't realize this and think that Kishi can just go killing off Naruto for the heck of it and have Sasuke's head chopped off just for the sake of drama! Get this through your skulls: The heroes have to win!!!!!!!! I am sorry, but that is just how it is. Therefore you should give villains credit when they almost succeed.
Some people may come with the counter argument: The deaths you listed are not major. Well in a war, the intelligence division is a very major division! As for Neji and Bee, they are named and have had either philosophical or training-related interaction with Naruto. That makes them major enough in this particular manga! If those are not major enough for you, too bad!
I can not emphasize this enough! This is not a tragedy! Therefore, Kishi is not going to behead all of Konoha 11, force Naruto to watch Madara put all of their disembodied heads in a blender, frappe their brains, make chicken noodle and brain soup, then send Naruto back in time to watch Kushina be repeatedly stabbed by Kurama while Obito drinks her blood in front of Naruto, then have Minato reveal that Kushina was secretly having an affair with Madara, then out of the blue have Madara put on Majora's mask, bring down the freakin moon, destroy the earth all the while on Mars, Orochimaru is physically violating Sasuke while Sasuke watches his mother get gang banged! That is not going to happen like you guys want it to! I don't know why you even expect that!
