We know that hagoromo met someone before Naruto. He mentiones a "Forerunner" and it couldn't have been sasuke since he met him at the same time.

Hagoromo exists in the form of Chakra. Chakra is somehow alive, and retains his Mind, as seen with Minato and Kushina before him.

So, Madara summoned Hagoromo's chakra and got the rinnegan. Chakra clearly retains a consciousness, so Hagoromo must have willingly given Madara the Rinnegan.

Plot Twist : Madara's eyes is actually the Eyes of the Fruit which went to the Rikudou to Ashura to Izuna and finally to Madra. Madara used the fruit's eyes to summon the Gedo Mazou. If Madara's eyes came from the Juubi's fruit, it somewhat explains this panel, I guess.

Naruto and Sasuke didn't get their Powerups simply by having Hagoromo's Chakra. They needed him to give it to them, and i don't see why Madara is any different.

He got the rinnegan by adding Hashi's cells to his body he had both the sages strong chakra and his life force he unlocked the power of the rinnegan by combining senju and uchiha.

Combining Senju and Uchiha simply isn't enough to get the rinnegan (Obito, Danzo). You need Hagoromo's chakra, or Hagoromo wouldnt have soecifically said that.

naruto didnt get it in anyway. kabuto clearly said that it was the healing ability that hashi had.

madara never met the sage. the only reason he has the rennigan is because he combined indra and ashura's chakra. if either naruto or sasuke would have done that, the same would have happened to them. remember madara thought it might be possible for obito to unlock the rennigan after giving him hashi dna, but he didn't realize it was impossible without giving him his as well. therefore he didn't even know the exact reason he had the power. he just got lucky that he chose hashi as the one he took the cells from. which he only did because he was the strongest.

^^what he said, except he did it "...before the end of the transmigration..." as stated by the SO6P. So it was NOT DNA (let's not go down that rabbit hole again), rather the combination of Indra's and Ashura's chakra that gave Madara the rinnegan.

BOIOIOIOIOINNGGG! Trampoline. We're out again. Rabbit has closed the door so we dont fall in again. Indra+Ashura chakra = Hagoromo Chakra. Hagoromo Chakra = Rinnegan for Indra reincarnations, Rikudo Senjutsu for Ashura reincarnations.

Hashirama's DNA Contains Ashura's Chakra, and theres no reason not to call it Senju DNA Because no one in their right minds would inject themselves with Tobirama.
