5G and up makes the user feel pain, so it kinda works out for Gai/Lee considering the pain would break them out of genjutsu. Unless sound genjutsu can't be broken out of via pain?

A measly Shinra Tensei took out all 3 Boss Toads. Hirudora, which has similar effects as Shinra Tensei, would defeat any of Jiraiya's toads.

A concentrated blast of air pressure would send Jiraiya and his toads flying, so do please tell me where I went wrong.

No because it isn't nearly as strong as the Shinra Tensei. The SR was able to break the bones of 3 boss toads, while a weakened Kisame survived the Hirudora with minor injures.

Except that Gai's intention wasn't to kill, so it was a weaker Hirudora. The Hirudora deflated once it clashed with Kisame's Daikodan, making the Hirudora even weaker, and Hirudora was also executed underwater, and therefore was fighting against the water resistance posed by the sea.

A weakened Gai using Hirudora destroyed V2/V3 Susanoo. Please don't try to assert the toads are as durable as a Susanoo of that state.

Shinra Tensei is on a completely different scale than Hirudora. The blast that sent the toads flying is the same size as the one that destroyed the village. Also, Hirudora is in only one direction and so it can't repel three frogs coming from different directions all at once. If Gai uses Hirudora, Jiraiya can use a boss toad as a meat shield (the toad would at least absorb the blow and protect Jiraiya, seeing as a weakened Kisame tanked it head on with no permanent damage.) Then Jiraiya can just summon another toad and Gai is now exhausted.

Even if sound genjutsu can be countered by inflicting pain, The frog sound genjutsu is one of the greatest and strongest genjutsu. Fact is, If Gai gets caught in it he'll have to inflict pain on himself. And the stronger/greater the genjutsu the harder it is to break out of it.

Orochimaru had to dismember his own arm to get out of Itachi's genjutsu. So what kind of pain does Gai have to inflict on himself to even hope to get out. He'll have to injure himself which is not good for Gai because he has to rely on Taijutsu.
