I'm sorry, but killing elderly Uchiha and the youngsters as well doesn't seem to make sense to me. Why the hell would the elder's need to die? They're old ****s. I mean, some of them weren't even ninjas!
And then he goes around helping an organization with world domination.
Tortures is 8 year old brother and plants hatred into his heart.
Tortures Kakashi nearly to death.
Doesn't attempt to stop kismae when he is about to rip Naruto's legs off.
Commands his croe to cast a genjutsu of "protect konoha" rather than "protect the people" .
Itachi is just a solider proud of his country. He doesn't care about the well bring of other villages or the world or even his clan
You know how you don't like it when people who do not appreciate/understand Hinata/Hyuugas post about them? You do not understand Itachi's character at all, and usually I would say such things are up for interpretation, but this part of his character really isn't.
-Itachi stated that he let Sasuke live because he was innocent and too young. Meaning that there were no other Uchihas around Sasuke's age or younger. According to Obito, Itachi, and Hiruzen everyone bar Sasuke knew about the coup, he was the only innocent one.
-That was a part of his mission to join Akatsuki. The one thing he did was help seal jinchurikkis, and that was just after they were already nearly dead anyway and to not blow his cover. If he blew his cover, I doubt that he'd be able to beat all of Akatsuki. He intentionally didn't capture Naruto and didn't help the other members capture theirs.
-Yes, he did it twice in 7 years and other people in the Naruverse have dealt with worse things. And he did it so that people in Konoha would be protected from Sasuke's anger if he ever learned the truth. Itachi took Sasuke's hate and directed it at him so that Sasuke would go after him, redeem the clan, and have the privilesge of killing an S-rank missing-nin. Which did work to an extent and would have completely had Obito not intervened.
-After Kakashi initiated the fight and Itachi had told him that it would be better if he stayed out of it and that he did not want to fight. He has to keep his cover as a spy, he's not going to give him a hug.
-Itachi knows when his genjutsu on someone is broken. Don't you think that maybe he realized that Jiriaya had broken that genjutsu on that lady and was near? Itachi didn't even reply to Kisame, and he's not going to say "no" and blow his cover.
-Protecting Konoha is protecting the people of that village. Your point is moot. It's not as if Sasuke is going to go and protect some random empty building lol.
-No. At the time of the massacre, he was a desperate kid with two impossible choices and chose the one that would lead to less bloodshed. Then later on as a young adult he protected Konoha from Akatsuki, which includes the people. He proved that he cared about his clan, considering that he saved them from an even bloodier death at the hand of Danzo/Anbu/Root/other clans in Konoha. He also protected their honor, because he shouldered everything alone and hid the fact that the Uchiha were traitors to their own village from the public. That's why when Naruto stated that he wanted to tell Konoha the truth about what the Uchiha were trying to do, Itachi told him not to and that it would tarnish the Uchiha's name. Also, he does care about the world considering that he stopped Edo Tensei in order to aid the alliance as an Edo when he had no real obligation to do so.
