Cassius nurses old woman Yugoda, she has fallen ill to a terrible disease and blood isn't circulating around her body, crippling her and making the old mentor bed-ridden. As the second most talented medic in the Northern Water Tribe it's his job to treat the respected elder. He fetches for Nurse, his medical raccoondog who loyally leaps to his side, offering medical equipment from the dog's satchel. 'Cassius, it's no use- conventional medicine will make no difference now, if your medical skills came into it then I would've been cured long ago'

An hour passes and she falls asleep, Nurse wanders off and in your break from her bedside he tried to find the missing dog, he went further down into the basement of the Elder's house and down into the library when he realised...he probably shouldn't be here. Scrolls, maps, books recounting awful events of Water Tribe history- and there he found him, the daft yet oddly valiant Husky with the ears and tail of a raccoon was sniffing the contents of a book and growling slightly. Cassius picked up the old book, it read- 'Bloodbending. The Taboo Element' and then begun the boy's obsession.

Cassius stole the book and learned about the existence and history of the style, people would fall silent when he inquired about it but he realised- this dreadful dreadful skill, might not have be used as a curse. What if he could harness it as a power for good? He'd become legendary, be able to save his teacher Yugoda and become the most talented medic of all time. Cassius and Nurse took the book and headed out to a low-brow part of town, he had to know more.

He doesn't have to get full bloodbending. He is just obsessed with it, if he had to he can find someone else who can.

Seems weird that only person has it in the entire universe. My character is a weakling so you'll never have to worry about that. Minimal bloodbending is kinda necessary for his story, but like very very minor. For medical purposes (blood transfusions) and tiny tricks only. Couldn't even nearly use it to pick up people or anything.
