Jokes aside, due to seemingly deterministic outcomes of my life in the past 3 years (that I won't discuss, but it actually turned me from Christian to more of an agnostic), I do believe that life has a meaning. Some things were just... too coincidental. And that's the understatement of the century.

Maybe when I can comprehend what's happening and see what it is that I'm "suppose to be seeing". As of now, it's not a question I'm prepared to answer.

And why is everybody always trying to figure out the meaning of life? Its such an unimportant part of the universe we know. What about stupid little asteroids? What is the meaning of those? Because there are countlessly more shitty little asteroids out there than living beeings, surely they are far more important and have a way deeper meaning!

Ants don't have the ability to think. They react to signals sent by their queen. Also asteroids are just parts of planets that have blown up by star's lives ending. They collide into each are become smaller. Therefore they have no meaning. Not quite sure what your point was. Good attempt at sarcasm I guess

ants dont have the brain which are required to be aware of yourself. up to date only apes and dolphins were able to show SOME intelligence. as in they coul think like a 3year old kid. they could recognize themself in a mirror. but still failed at other basic tests human beings passed...
just to point that out^^ for many people this is the difference between an animal and a human. human beings have dreams. can plan and think and even commit suicide while there is NO animel known to show this feat^^
as for the asteroids...well they dont live^^ how can something have a meaning when it doesnt liv in the first place. if u tried to make an indication towards the reason of existence...well that kinda is another story^^ and i think far to complicated to be even understood with our simple minds.

It tells you multiple things to help you understand various aspects of life. The universe is included in it.
It gives explanation on life and death, space, evolution, etc. Multiple quotes by famous philosophers and scientist that go with it all the more.
The meaning of life isnt one tiny thing.

I've read it. But not all of it is backed by science. Like Noah's Arc. Moses parting the Red Sea (the closest is that the Red Sea follows normal tidal patterns so they crossed during a naturally occurring sandbar.) Plenty of other crap too. But I get the gist of what you're saying

Those are just stories in the bible my man. What I posted has nothing to do with that.
Its not about the bible. The bible simply tells highly obscured stories of what the truth of life is.
I do not endorse the bible at all.


edit: this puts together science and religion to understand how badly the bible has misinterpreted everything. It does NOT say the bible is truth or the bible is right.

Actually, I know of those tests, but I still feel like there is a difference between recognizing the image in a mirror to be the reflection of your own and not just some tv show and not beeing self-aware.
Take a look at my cat for example. Sure, if I paint a dot on her head and show it to her in a mirror, she wont relize she actually has a dot on her head. But if I paint her leg for example, she's gonna see it and try to clean it off - because she does realize that her leg is part of her body. Also, cats show emotions, they do indeed make plans and they most likely dream, too. Rapid eye movement wich is something we humans do during our dreams can be observed with animals, too. Sometimes animals like cats suddenly awake with an itching movement of almost all their muscles - we humans do the same thing after experiancing a bad dream in wich we fall from great height or get other panicing images that let us wake up.

Sure, there are differences in the mental abilities of other animals and humans, that is after all the biggest feature of our species. But that doesnt mean that we are no animal anymore, it just makes us a smart animal. Ofc, you can define exactly that as beeing the cut between animal and not animal... as I said, it all depends on definition. I myself like to not do that cut at all and see ourselfes as animals, mostly for biological reasons. We difference pant from animal and fungi for physical/chemical reasons, not mental ones, why should we change our method for the 'wnb special case' of humans? But that's just me...
