plothole? madara was always getting humiliated by hashirama in one on one and yet apparently madaras chakra was actually stronger. same thing with naruto and sasuke; except at the very beginning naruto has been stronger than sasuke pretty much the whole manga.

Did kishi just throw in this 'oh the nice brother was weaker' thing just to make the story more compelling or do you think hashirama and naruto were only more powerful because of their wood jutsu and kurama respectively?

Hashirama shared the same ideals as Ashura. I don't think it's about power here.

Hashirama and Naruto both worked hard and had friends to make them stronger than their counterparts, just like Ashura and Indra

So6P said asuras needed his friends to match inda, not that asura became as strong as inda by training with friends

Ashura was weaker in the beginning, but then his body bloomed and he became equal to his brother.

see my above post, he was only equal to his brother with his friends backing him up

I think that although they had Ashura and Indra's chakra, they also had their own. They also had their own jutsu in which Hashirama triumphed over Madara due to his Mokuton.

Indra and Ashura themselves had their own power and in their case, they ended up being equal.

Plothole. To the rest people here. Hashirama didn't bloom,he was as much genius as hashirama since madara was kid.

He became stronge because of his friends and cooperation. From there on the battle was 1v1.

lol wrong sasuke has always been stronger than naruto until recently in the war and thats because naruto has more war feats, sasuke own naruto part 1, sasuke own naruto early shippuden, after the danzo fight naruto said he needed more power to beat sasuke and after that is the war so no its sasuke that has been stronger for most of the manga...

well, at the very least hashirama never had to train hard; he was always incredibly talented

It's about their ideals not power

Talent isn't a substitute for training, you just don't become Hokage level out of nowhere

Nah. The Sage said once Ashura got the cooperation of others, and with suffering and hard training, his chakra bloomed . Hashirama was in a time of constant war, he already knew great suffering from the lost of his brothers and clannies, they worked together so he had the cooperation of his clan (he became it's leader) and of course he would had trained. Hashirama also had special abilities as well that was his, being a reincarnation doesn't mean you will have all the same aspects as the 1st, look at Naruto, Uzumaki clan is distant relatives of the Senjus yet Ashura went from Senju to Uzumaki but Naruto doesn't have wood jutsu, self healing ability, water element or earth element. The host can possess their own unique abilities that can make them stronger or weaker.
