One special similarity between the two:
Indra is the hindu god of storm and thunder. He wields the almight thunderbolt Vajra and he was the strongest lightning wielder.

Kirin was said to be on another level of change in chakra nature by Zetsu. Imagine how powerful it could be should Sasuke use it with coalition of Perfect Susanoo!
This means that Sasuke's lightning could make a reentrance in a final battle versus Naruto.

Kishi has to chance to show Kirin again on a more grand scale, it was poorly used the first time it was shown. It was a kind of a let down that the greatest change in chakra nature's feat was only a building.

Yeah I don't get why people feel Sasuke is not Indra, the Sage literally said they reincarnated many times over history and it is definitely Sasuke.
Kirin would be hella stronger now if Sasuke used it or maybe even conjoined it with a Perfect Susanoo somehow.
