A young boy, with a youthful spring in his step, walked up to his mother, who was sitting at the edge of the hill where their small cottage lay. From their vantage point, you could see the sun beginning to set, it scintillating beams casting warm tones across the bountiful plain of farmland and natural wonders.
“Mother, there you are!” he said, giving her a mild shock as he surprised her from behind.
“Ah, hello child… did you play well?” She asked, a serene, peaceful aura about her.
“… of course! We played the ‘Great War’! The whole kid community was into it, although we might have almost destroyed the baker’s shop in our ‘epic battles’!” he said, playfully rubbing his slightly dirt covered nose and giving a big, confident grin. It was clear he had played an important role, and was as any young boy was: roughed up, worn out, but still zealous.
“Oh, and what do you know of the ‘Great War’?” the mother asked, with curiosity and genuine kindness. She smiled.
“Ummm… Teacher says it was centuries ago, where the ‘fate of the world’ was determined by the actions of ‘Three Races’… that’s what I know so far, Mother.” He said, furrowing his brow with exerted effort, as if trying to recall the week’s lessons.
She laughed, scruffing her son’s hair. “It seems you have much to learn. Perhaps I should add… shall we say, a supplement?”
He looked at her brightly, but his expression contorted. “Mother… this isn’t going to be another one of your long stories again… right?”
“Such a smart boy. Our ancestors were a part of it, on every front. It was a short, violent war, but surely, the greatest in the way it changed the course of Earth’s inhabitants, forever…” she said, beginning to get into recollection, nostalgic, yet, fresh.
The young boy knew he couldn’t argue when her mother was telling a story. After all, she was an Archivist; recorders of human history through the millennia. She had inherited her role from her mother, and her mother before her, and so on.
She held her son close, using hand gestures to express herself. Pulling up a book, she opened the pages:
“It started with an object. Pandora’s Box, as the legends say…”

The near-destruction of the Blue Eyes Clan by Observer forces, combined with the halting of their "Tournament of Champions", was an event that shook the entire world.
An already tenuous peace that had been on the breaking point for years, was ignited into flames by this single "match".
The Observers, the Sky Race, decided to then push forward their agenda, adopting militaristic and imperialist policies, their actions quickly seizing unclaimed territory throughout the rest of the world.
On the other hand, Humanity, in response, built up their own forces by engaging in large scale "conversion campaigns", Blank and Observer alike.
Within two years, the Observers had conquered more territory, but were outnumbered by Humanity.
But what of the third race? The ones "caught between worlds"?
The Blanks united their nomadic clans and established their own form of government, unwilling to be victimized and tossed around.
Each side, yearning to achieve their vision of the world, sought out any clues regarding Pandora's Box; an artifact left by "God" that created this world... and could end it as well.
And thus, a new era began.
Welcome to The Hunt for Pandora's Box. Unlike the previous RP of the same universe, "The Blank Slates", this RP will be a little more focused and story-oriented. Set events will occur periodically, and since most veteran players of the previous thread have somewhat of a better understanding of how this works, it should run a little more smoothly this time. While it is more linear, I'm not opposed to allowing characters to "stretch their wings", so to speak.
New Players: If you have any questions regarding the universe, premise, etc, feel free to ask any player in the previous thread, or go through the "Command Chain" of staff that help me run this RP. I’ll update this post with specific users.
There are three distinct races. Perhaps, throughout the course of the story, more races will be introduced (*hint* *hint*)
The Observers with their powers of null.
The Humans with their powers of imagination.
The Blank Slates and their combination of both at a smaller scale.
(Please reference the previous thread for a detailed description of each race, and feel free to ask old players how it works)
