I doubt it, considering the plethora of hype and buildup about getting the the Rinnegan. If you've read the recent chapters you'll see that Naruto is getting a ridiculous powerup (pseudo Juubi mode.), or so we believe. Sasuke inevitably has to have one himself.

Sasuke awakening the rinnegan has been a go for me from the day he achieved EMS.

It was further confirmed in my opinion when Orochimaru hinted that Sasuke would surpass Madara. And then further legitimzed when Madara gave that little speech about nurturing a new set of eyes though not being sure if he could use them just as he ran Sasuke through.

And finally with Hashirama giving Sasuke a new jutsu followed by Kabuto incorporating Hashi cells in tangent with nature chakra and his medical jutsu to resusitate Sasuke.....alll this IMHO points to Sasuke awakening the Rinnegan.

It's the only thing that can fill the void in Sasuke's heart. It's practically complementary to Kabuto's phallus.

Going by mangafax any male's phallus is complementary to Sasuke's heart. If you have one you're certain to have a chance. O

All the things are in place for him to awaken it without it being a total ass pull. And he would def need it if Naruto is to be a pseudo juubi Jin

I guess the "heavily-modified" cells could explain how he can awaken it quickly instead of after a long period like madara.
