Hello, everyone. Now before I begin, I must state this thread for the most part isn't speaking to the regular members. Anyways, what I'm about to bring up is for the reason that I believe that NarutoBase is taking a controversial direction with the site. A shout out to you mods, registration needs to be re-opened.
Directly speaking to the mods here
Now, I realize that you don't want to have to deal with trolls and whatnot, but sometimes you just got to ignore them. Trolls look for reactions, and if you ignore them, they will lose the motivation. Just like a bully in real life, they feed off your reactions, otherwise they are ineffective.
Anyways, the reason why it should be opened is because it is simply unfair to those guests who actually want to join but can't because registration is closed. I was just on the general discussion section today and I saw 88 people on there, but only 6 of them were members. That's just messed up. If this is supposed to be your form of peace, it isn't working because you're only making people suffer at the expense of there being no trolls, and realize a majority of those guests are probably not trolls. It's just selfish because you don't care about the others who want to join the site, you just want to have the easy way out as a mod. I thought if you wanted to become a mod, you did it partially because you loved working with the people around you (trolls excluded)
Secondly, we need new members. I haven't seen someone really new/a genin in almost half a year. I enjoy new members because it allows me to connect with more people. Seeing the same people post over and over again is sorta boring because you already know what the general theme of their threads are, and especially theorists. Speaking of the latter, the more theorists we have, the more educated and interested the NB community (including myself) become as we get to see new perspectives.
Lastly, I must note that this also benefits you higher ups significantly! The more members there are, the more money you get in from premiums, etc. and in turn the site becomes more profitable. Plus the site will become more well known and in turn more and more will want to join. As it is already though, admittedly this is probably one of the most well known Naruto discussion sites there is, if not the most well known.
It is for these reasons why I believe registration should be re-opened
Anyways, get back to me as soon as possible. I wish that we can discuss this further. If you cannot reply at all, I plan on sending this message to other mods and whatnot. This thread is not meant to bash you, I'd just like to understand why you stand where you are on this topic, and this is also meant so that I can get others opinions on where they stand on this topic so it can convince you of either side, and get to see where I am coming from. Going back to you guys reading this, feel free to discuss/comment where you stand on this situation. The most feedback possible would be great. Going back to the mods reading this, I'd prefer you not close the thread as this one of the only times you'll actually get to see numerous people show where they stand. So again, explain to me why you hold your positions and if you are disagreeing, please respond directly to the reasons why I said registration should be re-opened above. I'll try to respond to everyone's comments as soon as possible. So to conclude, to everyone viewing, please comment on where you stand and explain why, and mods do the same.
