Look at these scans of foolishness:
This is getting frustrating folks, it really is. The only people who are shown to have any skill are characters who are main enough to have a name.
However, what about all those unnamed Chunin? What about all the unnamed Jonin! Understand their skill level:
First, all "fodders" have finished the grueling trials and tests of their villages to get to their rank- which in the leaf is bad enough, who knows what the other villages do. In the leaf there is but one victor at a time for the Chunin exams which aren't exactly "graceful" per se. Jonin exams are obviously even harder, both in the exam itself and in the competition. Yet Rock Lee, Shikamaru, Kiba, etc managed to get Chunin level, and Neji Jonin (RIP bro never forget u_u)! Now, as "behind" as these ninjas are compared to everyone else, if they are on that level then so should every other Chunin (which are the majority of ninja). If Kiba has Human Beast Mixture Transformation: Three-Headed Wolf then other people on his same level shouldn't just stand their with a kunai and take up space and needed chakra- rather they should be accomplished ninja too! Just because you aren't named in the manga give you no excuse to act weak when you're of the better in your villiage.
Second, these "fodders" have been good enough to have been fighting their entire life in the ninja world, and having never died! Unlike Ino, Choji, Hinata, etc all of these shinobi in this war are 9/10 middle-aged, young-adult. Our chatarters are aged teenagers lol. In the ninja world, if you are able to survive long enough, from battle experience alone you can become a legend. Look at the likes of Kakashi, Guy, and Asuma for an example. These ninjas have been fighting long enough where they've gained a degree a skill. They have increased quite the lot since their days of just becoming a jonin- why haven't all these other jonin around??? All the do is stand there with a kunai, no jutsu at all!
Third, each "fodder" here is almost legendary in their own respect. So far, beside having completed their villages training, beside having done countless missions in the past, beside possibly even been in other ninja wars, they are still alive in this one, and that says so much by itself! These are the creame of the crop of the ninja world. They have been survived battle with Hashirama-enhanced Zetsus, survived the attack of some of the most powerful ninjas Edo Tensi'd, survived the 10-tails assaults, survived the brutality of Madara, and much more all within, like what, 2 days?!? These are quite literally the best of the best ninjas. Remember about half of them died in the war vs edo's and zetsus (mind you they were outnumbered, and still inflicting equal losses). And who knows how many countless ninja were killed in the current battlefield. If you are still alive at this point you are already worthy of honorary recognition. Those still alive are those who know more than one element, who have extensive training, who are expert ninjas, who are the better of their clans, etc. There should be no noobs left on the field, this is a battle greater than the 9 bijus! However as I speak, the best of the ninja world, even here and now, remain literally right before the end of their world, holding a freaking kunai. I am disappointed.
What I'm trying to say is that each unnamed "fodder" here is actually an incredible ninja. And I'm not even talking about special prodigy ninja who we haven't seen yet. I'm saying the average fodder is far above average at this point. And yet, the extent of all their powers is to hold a kunai. They haven't even done anything with it... Academy Sauske was better than them, at least he hit stuff.
Frankly, I'm tired of these fodders being useless when a bunch of new Chunin can do amazing techniques (Parasitic Giant Insect Bug Bite, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, Human Beast Mixture Transformation: Three-Headed Wolf, Shadow Clutch Technique, just to name a few). Each ninja out here qualifies the 3 points I made, some should be even more, yet the mots they can do it hold a kunai and take up Kyuubi chakra. Nice.
