The boy never had a fixed goal in the first place.
Revenge over his dead clan (Tortured by his loving brother)
Restoring Uchiha clan (a nice goal but nothing yet done for that)
Destroying Konoha (lack of knowledge and didn't want to know because the one who helped in murdering his clan TnJ'd him)
Saving Konoha (Tnj'd)
Become Hokage (TnJ'd)
Killing Naruto (for no reason)
Look where he's now.

Sasuke trained hard as a child and to learn many jutsu. Yes, Orochimaru gave him CM, minato gave Naruto Kurama. Also, if you criticize Sasuke for getting MS from Itachi's suicide then you must criticize Itachi for getting MS from Shisui's suicide

shisui had no future because he already lost his 1 MS eye....
BTW ITACHI at 7 years of age recognized as a hokage level ninja by Sarutobi .....

1) Itachi wasn’t Hokage level he had the wisdom of a hokage.
2) Sasuke is confused. That is what makes his character interesting

Let's see naruto getting mind-tortured like sasuke and see if he was spitting "i wanna be hokage" everyday. For a 7 year-old child to experience such trauma, it's horrible and of course it affects the respective child's vidion about the world and the others. In time, the person comes to accept it and change his thoughts. You don't have a straight way in life, between two rodes. You can change your plans as much as you want to.

Before criticising, look a bit on the background of the characters and put yourself in their place. Would it be nice? No. Naruto never knew parental love, so it wasn't so bad as sasuke, who lost everything he cherished U_U but no, you can't understand, because you're too keen on bashing and hating U_U

Naruto never knew parental love and still loved his village even after all that hate from the villagers. You're considering only one side. Both were dragged through lonely thing in a different manner. But you're prioritizing his sad past more than Naruto. And you think I'm bashing and hating Sasuke without any reason.
Even though I was moved by Sasuke's character after Itachi vs Sasuke, sometimes he's totally forgotten from the manga even though he's main rival. That's Kishi mistake.
