Sasuke is really underrated on this site. I truly believe that Sasuke has what it takes to defeat Nagato. Sasuke beats Nagato with high to extremely high difficulty. Here is why:

How does Sasuke destroy Chibaku Tensei? To destroy Nagato's Chibaku Tensei it took Naruto's Rasenshuriken, Bee's TBB and Itachi's Yasaka Magatama. Sasuke has enough jutsu to destroy the Chibaku Tensei. And they are:

- Kirin
- Enton: Yasaka no Magatama
- Enton: Susanoo Kagutsuchi

As Sasuke continues using Enton it will spread on the battlefield making easy prep for Kirin. Or if Sasuke wanted to easily create a storm cloud he could just simply fire a couple Yasaka Magatama into the air. Another way Sasuke could destroy the CT orb is by simply slicing it with his Susanoo sword like he did with the God Tree.

Why Nagato won't be able to absorb Amaterasu? Amaterasu is a jutsu that spawns wherever the user is focused at. Nagato has shown any speed or reaction feats to suggest that he would dodge Amaterasu. He may be able to sense Amaterasu because of the change of pressure but it still doesn't mean he would have enough time to dodge it.

Now if Nagato were to actually get hit by Amaterasu we wouldn't be able to absorb it nor repel the jutsu due to being in extreme pain. When Itachi hit Nagato with Amaterasu Nagato didn't show any sign of being in pain because he was an Edo Tensei. As his body was being burned to a crisp he was regenerating at the same time.

That is my reasoning as to why Sasuke beats Nagato. If you still think Nagato > Sasuke but EMS Madara(without Kurama > Nagato then you're being biased. If Sasuke's PS feats are on the same scale as Madara's then he beats Nagato quite easily. But still I'm talking about current Sasuke and I think he wins with high to extreme difficulty.

That's all that's needed tbh. If Sasuke's PS feats are on the same scale as Madara's then he takes it quite easily.

I personally think he can't win, Nagato is a potent sensor and can stop sasuke's #1 move with ease, since he can predict amaterasu. Shinra tensei defends against all his known jutsu, and he has the reserves to outlast him. Asura path+human path means that sasuke could get his soul yanked out should he go for hand 2 hand combat.

Nagato just has counters to everything in sasuke arsenal, and chibaku tensei more than likely 1 shots. And you don't know if his PS is even on maddy's level, so there was no point in even bringing it up.

Did you mean Sasuke performing those three Jutsu at the same time would stop Chibaku Tensei? I wouldn't be surprised, but I seriously doubt he can perform those in such a small amount of time.
Or, if you meant just one can stop CT, I completely disagree. It took the three strongest long ranged Jutsu of Naruto, Killer B, and Itachi to stop it.

And if Nagato were hit with Amaterasu, which very obviously is not as hot as the sun, he may be able to keep his wits and absorb it or cast it away.

And I wonder if Shinra Tensei could stop Kirin? Dunno. Either way, like you said, it's a very difficult battle.

If you think sasuke is a battle genius on par with itachi's rational thinking/training (anbu probably helped that) . then you should stop debating. also being uzumaki Nagato can tank damage from amaterasu, and either repel it or absorb it IF it got to that, because like you said he can sense the change in pressure even in edo form, so use bansho tenin ,shinra tensei, chibaku tensei ruins sasuke. He will not be able to destroy CT
