I have been thinking about this matter for quite some time and came up with a hypothesis which i would like to establish and share of why Naruto in bijuu mode and Obito as Juubi Jinchuuriki resemble Hagoromo Ototsuki who is known as Rikudou Sennin. To start my hypothesis:
Why of all people and Jinchuuriki, Naruto and Obito resemble SO6P in appereance when they gained their power up? Why didn't Killer Bee get the same thing or any other Jinchuuriki?. That is question people have been wondering about. The reason is why Juubito and BM Naruto resemble SO6P is because they are biologically related to the latter himself. By that i mean, they are descendants of Rikudou as they possess some of his passed down cells. Take a look at these panels:
Look at the text where Obito says he has the body of the Sage. As we know, Obito is body is constructed from Uchiha cells and Senju cells as well [
As we know, Rikudou Sennin was born naturally directly from Juubi's pure blood and chakra which is otherwise known as the fruit [
My hypothesis is why Obito upon becoming Juubi's Jinchuuriki had gained similarities to SO6P is the fact, Rikudou Sennin's cells which are Uchiha and Senju have been passed down into his sons and later to Uchiha and Senju clans which Obito had obtained. When Obito had became Juubi's Jinchuuriki, the Juubi's chakra had been influenced by the cells Obito has that altered his appearance giving him an almost equal appearance to that of his ancestor Rikudou Sennin. SO6P was formerly Juubi's jinchuuriki and since the beast is familiar with the cells that Obito has, it gave him appearance to that of Hagoromo and even staff and seal:
Now that i have explained Obito, but what about Naruto Uzumaki? well i haven't forgotten about him and i have my reasons as well. As Naruto gains Bijuu mode, we see so much look between Naruto and Rikudou Sennin:
My hypothesis is why Naruto looks similar to the Sage is because, Naruto is half Uzumaki and Uzumaki clan are washed down version of Senju:
And if we remember, Senju clan were direct descendants of the younger son who is the son of Rikdudou Sennin:
Whether it is or not, Uzumaki are related in blood to Rikudou Sennin through bloodline of Senju. So Naruto also possess weaker cells of Hagoromo and because of Kurama's nature and creation that comes from Juubi who had influenced Rikudou Sennin through the fruit, Naruto by mastering Kyuubi chakra, the Uzumaki cells in his body have been influenced by Kurama's chakra which comes from Juubi such altering his appearance as well.
That also explains why Minato despite having Yin Kyuubi inside of him, he still hadn't gain any features of Rikudou due to his bloodline being Namikaze and Uzumaki directly from SO6P family branch.
So the equation goes down like this:
Obito:
Juubi's fruit > SO6P Uchiha + Senju > Elder son + younger son > Uchiha clan + Senju clan > Obito = Uchiha + Senju > becoming Juubi's jinchuuriki had influenced his cells with the chakra thus making him Rikudou Sennin.
Naruto:
Juubi's fruit > SO6P Uchiha + Senju > Elder son + younger son > Uchiha clan + Senju clan > Uzumaki clan > Kushina Uzumaki > Naruto Uzumaki > Mastering kyuubi's chakra had been influenced by Uzumaki cells which comes from Senju which comes from Younger son which comes from SO6P had altered his appearance making him Rikudou Sennin.
