For those of you who bash the war and want deaths.

The following named characters have died during the war:

1. Shikaku
2. Inoichi
3. Ao
4. Mabui
5. Neji
6. Samui
7. Atsui
8. Tajiki

That is 8 named characters amongst thousands of of deaths. I once made a thread asking how many named characters you wanted to die during this war. Many of you said about 7 or 8 people. Well here you go.

PS. Samui and Atsui will not be saved from the gourd and pot. They might as well be considered dead. Tajiki was the guy who got blown up by the blast element guy if you are wondering.

Why? Kishi can't off all of Naruto's friends. That defeats the whole moral of the series (which is about having friends). Plus, thousands of people have died.

Maybe Bleach is meat to be that type of show, but not every writer wants their story to have that depressing ending where the hero has no living friends left. Also, you say it is not a war, but in real life wars there are still survivors.

Mabui and last 3 are fodders since I can't even remember their faces. Unless there are some serious deaths, like Tsunade, Kakashi, Guy, Bee, Oonoki, even some of the Konoha 10 to bring off the carnage feeling of war, I won't be satisfied. See the Pain arc, it needs to be even more dramatic than that.

No one of importance? Shikaku was the chief strategist. Inoichi was the chief communicator. Ao was the chief sensory person with the water bubble. Mabui was the raikage's assistant (and the raikage is the supreme leader of the alliance), and Neji was a Konoha 11 member (so he was close to the main character). How much more important can you get?

I just noticed that the Tajiki fellow is just a fodder who got one-shotted by Edo Gari back in chapter 521 or so. It was all one small panel. Big whoop.

This isn't a true war, it was always going to come down to the battle of Obito vs the Kage/Naruto. Kabuto merely delayed that by way of his Edo Tensei Jutsu, without it the final fight would have come much quicker. If two sides are colliding all that matters really is the battle between the omnipotent forces on either side. A war between two villages really only comes down to their strongest vs strongest, because once their best is gone the oppositions strongest can essentially kill everyone. That's why when it is a Shinobi world war involving all the villages, it becomes a much stickier situation unlike this one which was very straightforward.

It is called the 4th great shinobi war (not the kill Naruto's friends war). The villains are not going to specifically target Naruto's comrades. They target everyone.
