Okay, I actually watched my 5 eps a while ago.
So it was much better than I expected, but I found myself wishing I could get back to the manga. Anime just isn't the thing for me :[
But back to my updates!

-You guys Luffy let his badass side flip OUT when he saw Nami crying. I always love characters who are protective of their friends, it's a great quality of a strong leader. Especially with all the mess she put him through (though like, 90% of it was justified), he doesn't know her story and was extremely passionate about her feelings. I loved it.

Was just woah for me. Loved it. Amazing. 10/10 would look at again.
-And Nami's story was very, very touching as well as well thought out. I always thought I got the best of the best storytelling with Naruto, but this is blowing my mind. Her mom, Bellemiere, Arlongs entrance, his ruthlessness and all that jazz just made everything finally come together and explained her actions in a very good way.
-I also like how he was able to just keep that flashbacks in a short 3 chapters, but didn't make it seem rushed. Very well done.
-I never noticed it until now, but Luffy is a man of few words. He's ex
tremely goofy when he's on Going Merry, but when he's anywhere else and about to fight his statements become very stoic and direct. He's especially quiet when he gets angry as far as I can tell. Like the way he just walked up to Arlong and knocked him off his seat? That was insane.
-Speaking of the devil fruit, that Arlong/Officers fight VS Luffy/Crew fight was great. Loved every chapter of it. I think that there's less stress in this series when it comes to characters using new moves because not many attacks can be catagorized as 'asspulls' like Naruto. In Naruto said character has onscreen training shown or is shown starting it and finishes offscreen and comes back with a new tech. Otherwise whenever somebody uses something randomly out of the blue, it's just seen as an asspull. Fortunately for One Piece you don't have concepts of Jutsu that requires pre established mentions or foreshadowing, but instead normal attacks that they can think of in the heat of the battle.
-My favorite fight of the 3 was Luffy VS Arlong. Usopp VS the lip dude definitely had a charming sense of humor to it however.
-The climax to their fight was extremely intense too. It went beyond beating him because he made Nami cry, but seemed to be much, much more personal trading blow for blow in that tiny prison room. Was a powerful fight. Emotions were high.
-Nami leaving was a good laugh.
-I like Zoro's method of testing luck against curse.
-The buggy dude is back? Don't see what chance he has of winning since Luffy has just kept getting stronger and stronger.
-I'm starting to like the White Smoker guy.
-Even treated a 8 year old to 5 scoops of ice cream, baller.
-On chap 99, waiting to see where this goes.

-Sanji's 'do you believe in god' quote was damn sure fitting in that situation
-I can tell that Smoker guy has a connection of some sort with the old pirate king guy (can't remember his name). He got super shook up when Luffy smiled and suddenly got all units ready.
-So I'm on page 15 right now, about to predict how the fights are about to go-

Luffy fights Alida or whatever
Zoro fight Buggy
Sanji fights the dark emo guy
Usopp is going to run into the lion dude and fight him
[ROUND 2]
Luffy fights the Smoker guy (hopefully he doesn't kill him, he's a good guy)
Zoro fights the Tashigi (?) girl, just to make it poetic
A new unit commander comes in to fight Sanji
Usopp and Nami work on the boat
Let's see if I'm right on any of these.
