Hisoka's appearance is similar to that of a magician or jester. He wears face paint, with a maroon star on his right cheek and a spring green teardrop on his left cheek. Hisoka changes his outfit from time to time and his hair colour is initially blue but he later dyes it to red.

Personality
Hisoka is portrayed as entirely self-interested and does whatever he likes as long as it pleases him in some way. He lusts for the thrill of killing powerful fighters in combat and it is strongly implied that he receives sexual gratification from doing so. Hisoka often exhibits androgynous aspects of his personality throughout, manifested in his wearing of women's shoes and using an alluring speech style typically reserved for females. While Hisoka's nature tends to be malevolent, he isn't an indiscriminate killer. While he has no problems killing anyone regardless of age or ***, he only kills people who are in his way or people he deems "worthy". As such his character is more simply amoral than flat out evil. Above all else Hisoka cares only about having fun which may or may not (but mostly may) involve killing people.

Background Information
Hisoka was born in Konohagakure as a proud member of the prestigious Hyuga clan in a period of time where blood was continuously shed, famously known as "The Third Shinobi War". As Hisoka grew up in the horrific scenes, his parents on a short notice decided to evacuate him to safety which Hisoka at first attempted to resist as he was only 12 but realised it was for his best and eventually agreed to it, although with grief. Therefore saying his final brief words to his family, he realised all he could do was explore the world which was originally his dream but he certainly didn't expect such circumstances forcing him to do it but after stumbling past many town, he ventured into the the Land of Water, Kirigakure, where the residents welcomed his arrival with pleasure, making him yet again, at last, feel at home, something he felt deprived off ever since leaving his family sometime ago who's status he was still unaware of and wished for the best. For these precise reasons, Hisoka decided to reside here and dreamed of being able to see his parents again in the foreseeable future. The tough upbringing impacted him as he grew up in Kirigakure and resulted in him being emotionally scarred for life and due to this fact he has become sadistic and isn't afraid to kill anyone.
Other
Due to his mastery in Wind release, Hisoka can now perform all Fuuton techniques by just weaving a mere hand seal and due to his mastery in Lightning release, Hisoka can also perform all Raiton techniques with handseals at a faster rate than that off a regular shinobi.
His capabilities in wind techniques allows him to give the cutting edge to his favourite form of, playing cards, making it able to pierce through many objects and further its range.
