I would very much like to believe Obito > Kakashi in Genjutsu because of that, but there's a severe lack of details on what Genjutsu he used on Yagura.

For all we know, he could have led him into a trap which allows for easy mind control, or he could have done what he did to Fu & Torune and Kamui him first.

Unless you're Itachi:

Genjutsu in a non-fighting situation > Genjutsu in the middle of a fight.

Of course I could be 150% wrong and just making excuses

Whatever man, Kishi made parallel between the 2, he showed them as rivals fighting to the death, which is why he compared them as kids and now. It's why kishi restricted kamui and put them both in the kamui dimension. And kishi did it perfectly, he showed who the superior shinobi was, Taijutsu Kakashi was always better, Ninjutsu - Kakashi has over a thousand, and Obito's genjutsu won't work on Kakashi (it wouoldn't make sense anyway considering they have the same eyes).

And if you can't see that and just blame it on plot or handicaps then you obviously don't understand what kishi was trying to portray in that fight. In that case keep telling yourself otherwise, I don't really care because I read the manga and saw a winner of a fight of 2 powerful individuals fighting a fair fight.

This is why it was plot, obito used black rods that he's never even been shown to produce before when he had access to mokuton (which can restrain) & the rinnegan's human path. This should've been an endgame combo however kishi probably knew this & restricted them.

I see what you mean. but kishi made it his point to show that Itachi and shisui were the best. I agree with you that obito has shown better genjutsu feats though

Whole war is pretty much plot, IMO current obito is using %1 of his power from the juubi, realistically sasuke and naruto would had been dead a long time ago.
