Whose pain is greater: Sasuke's or Nagato's?

Hard to decide as we don't truly know how the Uzumaki clan were destroyed. Not only did they lose there clan but they lost their village as well. Everything else being equal which most of the story line seems to support would have the "more pain" issue leaning on the Nagato side. From the self torture perspective it could easily go to the Sasuke side since he seems to be self loathing and blames all the problems he has ever had on other people rather than moving past them and bettering himself like Naruto has done.

Answer me this, If the 3rd hokage would have told him the truth, he would have scaped right away to look for his brother but the thing is he was with the akatsuki already and obito was in contact with him too right? They would have killed sasuke and discover that itachi was in the ''good'' side.

I don't think any of villagers treat him like Naruto ..Unlike Naruto He recived special kind of treatment from Village due to his clan history...

MadaraRules's post explained nagato's pain . adding to that , Nagato's parents and Yahiko all died a meaningless death . Nagato's parents were killed by the hidden leaf ninja who just mistook them for ninjas , not to mention the war was created by the great nations . Yahiko also died a meaningless death . Nagato and Yahiko planned to achieve world peace , yahiko had big dreams ( like becoming the god ) of bringing peace to the world and it just came to an end just because Hanzo wanted to stay in power . After that incident , Nagato became cripple , with so many rods sticking out of his back .

You can't compare having nobody from the whole clan with having friends, even if one dies...sasuke grew with those persons, nagato found konan and yahiko and he understood them because they were like him, orphans. But sasuke had nobody like him, somebody to feel what he felt...i say sasuke U_U

Nagato was born in a poor war country. He saw his parents die in front of him. Nagato has lost his house, his parents, his family, his country. He lost everything there is to keep him alive. He was only lucky that Konan found him otherwise he would have died as 7 year old boy.

Despite Sasuke losing his family, he still had his village who treated him with respect and he had hokage protecting him. Sasuke even had ninja sensie teaching how he could live. Sasuke could still make friends and live good life but he chose not to.

Nagato didn't have anything, no ninja, no food, no family, no house. Simply nothing. Nagato by far has greater pain than Sasuke.

However, Sasuke refused to have his old wounds healed by his new bounds due filial piety and his personal need for revenge. Sasuke could have had a happy life but he refused it. This makes Sasuke's life more tragic and full of pain than Pain's.

However, having no food or house is a valid point I'll admit.

The Higher Officials represent Konoha.
The villagers don't have the power to label Shinobi's as criminals, The Higher Officials do.
They are given the power to protect ALL villagers, not a select few.
When decisions get made, they go to the Higher Officials.

If the power upstairs if corrupt, it can slowly corrupt the rest.
Sasuke and Itachi are viewed as criminals to Konoha. Really?
