This chapter explained us that the remaining characters will be in pursuit of the fruit. I for one wouldn't want Naruto to eat the fruit. Naruto already has powerful chakra reserves as it is with Kurama. Madara intends on getting the fruit most likely given the curiosity of his voice. Now there's another character that probably knows about the fruit, Sasuke. I bet that Sasuke has to have some knowledge about the "God Tree." Which explains why Sasuke wanted to destroy the Juubi chapters ago before Obito became the host.
Now i'm feeling this fruit will tempt Sasuke to obtain power. We saw that Sasuke has grown envious of Naruto's power. Whether Sasuke has hidden intentions with the fruit it could also happen. Kishimoto does twist Sasuke's goal in the story which makes us confused and wonder what Sasuke will do next. I have a feeling that Sasuke will consume the forbidden fruit. Now if Sasuke doesn't consume the fruit that's fine. Although it wouldn't make sense for Sasuke not to consume it. After all, Naruto vs Sasuke has to happen this is the only way it can be redeemed.
Why give Madara or Obito the fruit? Both of them already had the limelight for far too long. In the end, Madara and Obito will not highlight the ending of the series. Also, Madara never mentioned anything about the fruit having any significance to the "Eye of the Moon Plan" so why should Madara care for it? This fruit can definitely increase Sasuke's power to give him the potential as a semi-villain or FV of the series. This is will be Naruto's test to save Sasuke from evil. At the same time, Sasuke might die due to realizing that the fruit has possessed Sasuke. Sasuke might realize that power is a tool that corrupt's ones life.
This is why i feel that Kishimoto should give the fruit to Sasuke. I want Sasuke to have a better progression in the story. Besides this chapter hints more of Sasuke consuming the fruit because he seems to know about it. Which would explain since obtaining the EMS. Sasuke was able to read the Uchiha tablet. Who knows the tablet still might have hidden information that even Madara might be unaware of... Now if for some reason Sasuke surpasses Naruto by consuming the fruit. Naruto can have the other half of Kurama to match Sasuke.
