For me: - i drop gurren lagann on 3rd b/c it was kinda slow and gloomy. After hearing how great it was, I continued. Now, Im like "it's the most epic anime ever".

Same here, I thought it would be wack because it was pirates. Now it's one of my favorites of all time, I wish I started it sooner.
Code Geass is another one, it wasn't my typical action-packed anime but the story and characters got me hooked. Lelouch has become one of my all time favorite characters and I like Code Geass now better than OP or Naruto.

Another one for me would be Naruto

I thought it would be supremely stupid at first, but then I got seriously addicted to it. I got really engrossed in the expanding mythology. I eventually fell back out of love (it's sooo long it outlives its awesomeness and then some) but it did surprise me with its depth.

DBZ. I never watched it and I thought it was stupid and nerdy but I gave it a chance and I LOVED IT

One piece, I first watched it when it came to America and thought it was too tame to be good, but a year or two ago I picked it back up starting with the ending battles in Alabasta and from that point on I was hooked.

Attack on Titan , when i found this anime I didn't knew anything about it , didn't know about the manga , so i was like ugh ....let's see how this shit is & Well after one episode look at me now , I fanboy this series so hard & Damn proud of it also angel beats .
