Am I the only one who feels that the themes of hard-work and determination towering talent and destiny as in the original series been lost in shippuden?

Naruto who was babbling back then about how fate and destiny were crap has now been chosen by a freaking prophecy as the one to save the world. Almost everyone in the current series are strong simply because they were born like that or because they were given in via talk no jutsu.

Seriously, during this war, no-one that wasn't born a god or given powers of a god with simple talk no jutsu and not even an ounce of hard work can make a significant contribution, other shinobi who worked their asses off to be strong are simply there to get fodderised by someone with the eyes of a god or a freaking 10-tailed monster sealed inside them.

Even Naruto who was saying that hard-work was more important is being constantly given power-ups simply because. He doesn't even seem to have the need to work inorder to master the said powers (Yeah, I'm talking about you kage bunshin no jutsu!)

In my opinion, the only shinobi who were able to make a change worth noting in this war with their own hard work and determination and not by being 'given' powers are Gai, Lee and Minato.

Anyone else with me??

Oh please, and all of Naruto efforts didn't do shit. Finally, it was Hashi telling Sasuke a bedtime story about Uchiha and Senju that bought him back. And we even that is not yet confirmed.

Uzumaki Naruto, the son of the most powerful ninja living in the most powerful village at the time and a mother from a clan who was so feared they were wiped out, is destined to be the reincarnation of a priest so powerful he was able to defeat a God. And to top it all of he was given the most powerful piece of that God in the hopes that he will one day befriend it because he is just like its creator, and once he did he became one of the most powerful ninja ever.

Naruto was destined to be powerful and succesful.

hardwork never been plot of the manga.
I know, but still, I don't see why Kishi just completely turned the tables and made Shippuden's idea of being strong directly in contrast of the original's idea. It was more appealing, in my opinion.

Exactly. And this was the guy who was originally babbling about fate meaning shit in the first season, and while I do agree on that, Kishi just completely redrew the image of Naruto from being someone who became strong into someone who is given strength because he was destined to. Thats what makes it infuriating.

Absolutely! Notice how everyone who isn't "KYUUBI SAGE SSJ AUTO HEAL SUSSANO HAX MANGEKYO WARPING TIME AND SPACE NO JUTSUS." is considered 'fodder' by some of the tards on this site. It's now about flashy wannabe DBZ $hit!

People who're causing wreck in NV now doesn't even have a worthy reason. I mean seriously, how can 'my crush who thought it'd be better to tell my team-mate to see her feelings after I died was killed, and a few decades ago that was. So, now I've decided to destroy the world because of that' be considered love. Juubito in my opinion is an ******* who's gone insane with no emotions. So, I don't see how empathy has any say in this.

Naruto's theme right now seems to be more about destroying mad men with a being that created the world sealed inside to achieve peace.

That's not even why he's doing it, he hates the village system.

Rin is basically a symbol of how the whole world is irredeemable. Here's my thread on the whole thing with Obito and the Juubi:

But even the first half acknowledged that hard work... didn't work. That's why Lee got beat by Gaara, and whyI don't think he was supposed to recover from it.

Minato doesn't even know that Obito turned bad from witnessing Rin's death. Rin is just the most beneficial thing to him that comes from the eye of the moon plan. He still wants to erase the concept of trash and hatred.
