then what did they try to do?,and it's not different from sasuke's own sword,unless you are referring to his arow?

enton counters sand and makes it unusable and weak.Arrows have better piercing feats than the swords.

how does enton make his sand weak?,it dosent burn through,and gaara uses that sand covered with enton to attack him. Sasuke's arrows got stuck in a pillar,their greates feat is piercing a weak moukton tree,one sand wall from gaara is above steel level,it will get stuck there as well

Well, it's true his sand doesn't get burned by Amaterasu or it can defend against Susanoo sword, but Enton Blade or Susanoo arrow would pierce his Sand defense.

^With Enton Blade piercing power...it easily pierces Gaara's defense and lights him on fire....Gaara Sand can't handle anything that can pierce....

finally someone with good sense!. However,that wasnt gaara's ultimate defence,not by a mile,that was just ONE sand wall,and normal sand even. Gaara could have made two at that time,and the magatamas would have been blocked,since i am pretty sure his sand walls are stronger than rock. Gaara's ultimate defence refers to his sum total(i.e auto sand defence normal sand sand armour),replace onoki's rock golem with a second karura sand wall and the magatamas would have been blocked,but since thy couldnt affore to waste chakra against madara,they combined their jutsus to reserve both their chakra.
Sasuke's magatamas are not like madara's they are made of amaterasu,hence dont have much piercing power,they are just like throwing entons at gaara which he can block.
What makes you think his sand cant handle piercing power?,kimimaro's drill had high piercing AND drilling power didnt it?,all thses weaknesses of gaara were in part one,
this is also assuming sasuke gets in range,remember gaara fights at long range too.

have you changed your mind,oh and gaara dosent need to bury the whole thing,just sasuke,susanoo cant help him when he is sinking right inside it.

Regardless, he still needs to be able to amass enough sand (Whether it be from his gourd or from the ground) before the arrow hits. If Kakashi and Danzo couldn't physically react, the second option is out of the window, and depends on if Gaara can get enough sand out his gourd before the arrow hits him (Which most likely isnt happening) to be able to block it. If he can't then he obviously dies.

The moment Sasuke catches view of Gaara, Amaterasu lights him up.

range had nothing to do with it, he just didn't feel the need to use it beforehand. susanoo would be 200 meters underground

Gaara obviously has the best defense in Naruto. If you are talking about speed, there are several places where Gaara's sand has displayed high speed levels.
1. When he blocked amaterasu.
2. When he saved sasuke, this I want to expand on.

From the above scans, Gaara did not even enter the scene when Raikage was seconds from killing Sasuke, from the scans you will even see that raikage's trousers almost touch the amaterasu. That was when Gaara started to send his sand towards them and was able to block the raikage before his trouser even caught fire. There are many other places that show his sand's speed especially when it comes to defending.
