Firstly, this a long thread so please read and then post, and take into account everything i have said. =D
In this thread, I will be analysing and explaining how Mei Terumi, the current Mizukage of the Hidden Mist Village can potentially beat Sasori of the Red Sand with the only restriction being that Sasori cannot utilise or use any forms of poison.
Countering Hiruko
Sasori, normally starts the battle in Hiruko, where his real body is hiding inside to reduce the disadvantage puppeteers have of having a weakness in close combat. Mei Terumi, can no doubt, break and destroy Hiruko with her elemental prowess and destructive kekkai genkai.
Here we have Hiruko :
What Mei Terumi can do is use Hidden Mist Technique, thus obscuring Sasori’s vision and thus preventing him from attacking within Hiruko due to Mei Terumi’s position being unknown. This jutsu was also carried out exceptionally fast, with what it seems a hand seal, so Mei can pull this technique off before Sasori starts.
What Mei can do then is to use either of her Kekkai Genkai, Boil Release or Lava Release, both of which will then be capable of destroying Hiruko. Boil Release was able to melt rib-cage version of Susanoo, so melting Hiruko will not be too difficult.
Lava release was praised by Madara Uchiha, as a technique he ‘couldn’t let himself get sucked into’, emphasising its destructive capabilities, and had to resort to Susanoo to help himself defend against it.
Countering Third Kazekage Puppet
Sasori can also control the Third Kazekage puppet and with this his Iron Sand. Mei can triumph over this. Since Mei has already activated Hidden Mist, Sasori will not be able to pinpoint her position so will have to resort to area of effect attacks. Also, if Mei couples Hidden Mist with Acidic Mist, Sasori will not be able to enter the field of mist otherwise himself and his puppet will melt.
Firstly, since Mei will be at long range inside the combination of Mist, she can anticipate any Iron Sand attacks and thus counter them from afar. This will be possible as she has shown incredible reaction time in performing a Water Style to extinguish a powerful Katon performed by Madara and even attack and send a Susanoo flying, hence sending a Iron Sand block etc flying won’t be impossible.
Also, science shows that Iron dissolves naturally in water and much faster at acidic conditions. This is advantageous to Mei as with her powerful Suiton and Acidic Mist, this will encourage the iron to dissolve in the water and hence prove ineffective. All Mei has to do then is to shoot copious amounts of Lava onto the puppet to destroy it or wait until melted by acidic mist.
Counter to 100 Puppets
With Hidden Mist and Acidic Mist in play, any of the many puppets that enter the mist will melt. All Mei has to do is Suiton, Katon, Doton and Yoton until the majority are dead for example, one Water Dragon can kill a majority due to sheer size and able to manipulate around the battlefield.
While I agree this won’t be easy, Acidic Mist will be main factor in destroying the many puppets, since they are made of wood and this will be relatively easy to melt if it is able to melt rib cage susanoo.
Counter to Sasori
With everything out of the way, Mei only needs to fire a Yoton at Sasori to melt him or use Acidic Mist to melt his puppet body. Also, the chakra pack that Sasori has can be destroyed and melted via Acid Mist and Lava.
While I agree this won’t be an easy fight for Mei, I believe she wins 6/7 times out of 10, if poison is restricted.
