Reason for Edo tensei?

what was the reason behind the invention of edo tensei by Tobirama senju?

we already know that the jutsu was used to finish the opponents by reviving hte dead and making it finish the work.

but was that all the reason? because Tobirama labelled it as forbidden jutsu and it seems Hashirama too knew about it(so it was during hashis reign that he invented it.

what do you think? was there any noble cause behind this invention?

Tobirama wanted to revive Izuna to make up for what he did to Madara, not making him hokage.

I like to think that Tobirama originally created Edo Tensei after the death of Hashirama because the grief was perhaps to much to bear the loss of his elder brother. But Tobirama ended up deciding not to revive Hashirama after creating the jutsu because Hashirama would not have wanted another's life to be sacrificed to bring back his own.

Pousible he wanted to revive everyone he respected and Loved(Hashirama,Kagamu Uchiha,Izuna and others...)Most likely He wanted to live in peace with Uchiha Clan so he planed to kill them all and Control the actions of them to defend the vilage with all cost from Uchihas and with them......Wuld be reasonable Knowing Him....In other words he wanted Peace. Program All uchihas to work for sake of the vilage.

I think the purpose right now was to help defeat the enemy but we are realizing that it is giving the dead ninjas who fallen actually peace. knowing that there mission was completed, knowing that there love ones are taken care of.

the fact that everyone go back to the netherworld after some kind of carthartic jolt, so means of peace after a battle with a person they battle with or seeing certain ones grow up and is a strong ninja they can finally rest in peace.

Great thought..... well, we don't know so much about Tobirama's story and his arsenal, however there is still some skills we know about him.

yes ur opinion is of the present and aftereffects of edo tensei on the revived souls which i agree with. i asked about hte real reason for edo tensei though. i dont see tobirama(being a hokage) using people for sacrifice. may be he used already dead corpse to revvie souls.
