Why Naruto Uzumaki is one of my favorite characters!

There is nothing special or notable about Naruto—he's merely a manifestation of a character that pertains contextually to the Shounen manga stereotype. Are there any real differences between Naruto, and, say, Luffy for example? Itachi, and Sasuke are both much more complex, well developed and unique characters.​

Making foolish decisions and not making any sense all the time is the same as being complex or interesting for you? Thank God 80% of the Naruto fandom disagrees.


Naruto btw is not the typical shounen hero because he is not a Mary Sue and has some flaws. And made mistakes...

I dunno about that. I guess I can't really judge if he's a unique protagonist or not, but even if he isn't, he's part of the standard that works. I'm not really sure if there's been many shonen main characters with disadvantages and was unpopular at the start. I like how he's proving to the world that hates him that he's the best around.

I have to say this. Sasuke's more complex, but he's by far a worse character than Naruto in my opinion. He's become sadistic and evil. It's a shame. I actually like Sasuke in part 1. He makes for a great villain though, but be honest, given the summit arc, do you really want repeats of that?

Sasuke has existed as both a malevolent and benevolent being. In terms of his very existence, he's already inherently more complex than Naruto. Yes, making odd decisions is part of Sasuke's character. It is what differentiates him from others. In addition, Naruto is the cheesiest and by far the most lame character in Naruto, that is, because despite the fact he is obviously losing, he still yearns for victory when any rational person would realize failure is imminent. I suppose, it boils down to taste.

Luffy, Goku, Natsu, amongst other characters such as Ichigo aren't perfect either, though they are effectively of the same substance; Shounen manga heroes.

Nah; the reason I mentioned Sasuke was to provide a counter-example—you needn't assume the worst of me, don't be so cynical.​

Yeah I like him too, I enjoy imperfect characters, I honestly can't stand overly perfect, highly intelligent, good looking characters who always make the right choices for example Minato.

I don't mean to hate on Minato but that guy is way to perfect that he has become a merry sue.

Naruto is a flawed and stupid guy but still a all around good guy and he has a good heart, stereotypical Shounen hero or not, I dig his style anyway.
