What you just read there is Naruto's way of achieving peace. He will fight evil with all his power and his friends support without letting anyone get hurt. Something wrong with that? Yes, yes there is. It's a shonen fight anime, I don't really ask for much more but the fact that Kishi is trying to be all smart and bring in the 'way to peace' theme really annoys me if he's not at least going to do it right. Basically, my problem with the protagonists resolve to save the world actually got questioned in a chapter MONTHS back right after Neji's death but hasn't been brought up or answered since, and it hasn't left my head since:

Naruto's plan to peace is to defeat all evil with his friends without anyone getting hurt right? There's not one time Naruto has fought a wide scale battle with others involved and nobody got hurt. Toads got seriously hurt. Neji died. Hinata, Kakashi & lots of people in Konoha got murdered. There is going to be more and clearly that stupidly optimistic mindset has been proven to not be applicable to the real world or even the Narutoverse :') What makes him think he can save everyone with it? What makes him think he can help run the ninja world? Naruto will end up like Hanzo if he keeps aiming for this 'American Dream' utopia that time and time again is shown to

Actually that's a really good point, never realized it before... he never has protected everybody in a huge battle.

That's the point Obito essentially got across to him.

I doubt he'll continue to think that way after the War is over, seeing how Obito shut him down.

Naruto wants to achieve his dreams, no matter what happens. He cant and he doesnt up only because something bad happenned. His dream is peace, he wants to end the cicle of hatred in the shinobi world. This mission was entrusted to him, and he wont give up. That's a good lesson, a hint for real life. People should always follow their dreams, even if something didnt go as planned. No matter what happens, everybody should pursue what they want. That's what naruto is doing

Hold on, wasn't the big point after that chapter is that Naruto accepted he couldn't save everyone and would instead let them live on in his heart?

Naruto thinks very naive, to him 'protecting your friend = worldpeace'. It doesn't look like he understand the complex situation of his world. Ninja's villages get paid for the mission they do, shinobi's will fight each other aslong as their main income comes from those missions. Villages will have conflicting interest and there will be another war aslong as the current system remains.

Was that stated somewhere =_=? ..... Either-way, I have to agree with you. Also, why does it matter, peace could never be truly achieve. Their would always be hate and pain in the Ninja World. >_>

naruto's way of achieving peace is by listening to people and try to understand their conflicts and solve them,it's about bringing everyone's conflicts with each other and try to sort it out in a peaceful way(exactly what he did with nagato).what you said about "defeating evil and keeping friends alive" make no sense at all,and irrelevant to achieving peace.
he never protected his friends properly so what?should he start crying over it or move on with his life and try to get stronger for them?

I will say the same thing that I said in your other thread, its a fictional story, if Kishi wants to end it with Naruto succeeding and bringing peace to the world, that's what going to happen.

I have read countless stories where the hero brings peace to the world in the end.

I don't see why Naruto should be any different.

Okay first you need to understand something: Naruto hardly THINKS at all. His way to achieve peace comes from his belief in himself and others, which is very strong. That's why he said what he said, did what he did. However, as you mentioned, his hope and beliefs were rocked to the core by Neji's death, because, like Nagato said, he "made himself believe" he couldn't die. It sounds like you want him to come up with a new way to achieve peace, which isn't unreasonable. But Hinata gave Naruto hope by saying that abandoning his words and beleifs would be the real way to kill his friends, and that his way to achieve peace wasn't as stupid and pointless as Obito was making it out to be. This probably made him believe in himself and others again, which is why he hasn't changed his mind. I dunno, I liked what Hinata said, and I believe its true, and anyway Naruto is the child of prophecy who will bring about world peace. However, I believe Sasuke will give him a hand with it. It sounds strange, but Sasuke and Naruto are both walking talking examples of what the shinobi worlds hatred can do to you. One of Minato's reasons for turning Naruto into a Jinchuuriki was because of politics, though it was mostly because he wanted him to change the world's future as a jinchuuriki. Sasuke went through hell because of what his own home village did to its most powerful clan. And anyway the Rikudou senin was the combined form of senju and uchiha, and its been theorized that uzumaki=senju. So these two will probably work together to change the world, balancing each other and the world out. Creating a better future.
What im saying is is that you will probably have to wait until Sasuke and Naruto are willing to listen, trust, and work together with each other smoothely before you get a "new way to achieve peace." If there will be one that is. Naruto is one of the super long shonen mangas, though not as long as one piece (and I don't see it going that far either) so it will probably be a long time, and after a whole lot of **** goes down that you get your answer.
Also, we live in a severely F'd up world. I don't blame Kishi for bringing up the "world peace" issue and dragging it out this long. Its actually one of the things that individualize Naruto, since Dragonball was about saving the world, and One piece is about being free (with a little change the world on the side).
Just be patient. You might get your answer in a few months from now.

I agree that Naruto's plan to achieve peace is a pipe dream because it requires people to always work together without fighting. That won't happen because people are naturally selfish and power hungry and so there will always be conflict.
